Sadly, this seems to happen much more often than reported in the news: guardian angels at conbinis protecting the elderly from unscrupulous scammers.

Story #1: a 61-year-old part-time employee at a 7-Eleven in Shiga Prefecture prevents an elderly customer from buying e-money cards worth 300,000 yen to pay a false mobile phone bill.

Story #2: a Nepali conbini worker stopped an elderly customer from buying e-money cards because his computer was allegedly hacked.

Sad to see so many elderly fall prey to the vultures, and kudos to those alert conbini workers.
