Combining separate sentences with i-adjectives

Hi,

My text book gave me the following example for combining separate sentences with na-adjectives:

この靴下はきれいで、その靴下は丈夫です。
These socks are pretty, those socks are strong.

Can the same pattern be used if I want to combine separate sentences with i-adjectives?

For example, is the following correct?

この靴下は小さいで、その靴下は赤いです。
these socks are small, those socks are red.

Or should I somehow use "くて" to combine the separate sentences with i-adjectives?

小さくて is correct since it's the -te form of the i-adjective.

Just as an additional information, judging from what you are learning right now, you may eventually encounter instances wherein you combine two separate sentences that end with nouns.

In fact, the rule for conjugation of nouns is pretty much the same with that of the na-adjectives.

For example, if you attempt to connect the two sentences below,

この人は学生です。(This person is a student.)
その人は先生です。(That person is a teacher.)

you'll have:

この人は学生で、その人は先生です。(This person is a student, and that person is a teacher.)

Just add 「で」 after the noun just like you did with na-adjectives.
