i love fruits basket!! and like koneko, i watched chobits too but i didn't feel that much for it, and it didn't help that i missed some parts of the story because i watched it on tv..

Ayame! Furuba should win simply because Aya is in it!

He's one of the best characters ever! Beautiful, arrogant, clueless, funny, vain... what more could you ask for?

very tough decision, but i must choose furuba, cause it just makes me feel so giddy and all the characters are wonderful, especially the mubadachi trio, aya is hilarious, hari is so strangely interesting, and shigure is a perverted man who is truly the most mysterious.....and put them all together, and you have one the best group of friends!

I voted for Fruits Basket I liked it so much I even have repeated the episodes I like the most hehehe....Chobits is not bad? is just that I didnt find it THAT interesting......so FRUITS BASKET!!!!

Ugh. The two of them cannot be compared on the same level, therefore there's no "better or worse".

To begin with, Chobits is an comedy ecchi with some drama. Chobits is about fuzzy feelings, and cute things.

Fruits Basket is a comedy-drama, its got a dark side, and a light side. Fruits Basket oscilates between both, some chapters are about funny situations, while others are about traumatic experiences.

Chobits spins mainly around two characters. Fruits Basket, as far as I remember, involves more than just two characters. Fruits Basket has a bigger action portion than Chobits (Chobits barely has any action at all).

I also got the impression that Chobits, while obviously having ecchi moments, was targetted to a more "mature" audience because of the suggestive themes.

I agree with the above poster, the two are pretty different. However, entertainment & story wise a prefered FB .. I enjoyed watching the anime a lot .. and I just never got bored of it now matter how many times I watched it, and I got hooked to the manga .. I pretty much bought all the volumes that are available in English "13 so far" .. Uh if only Tokyo Pop released the volumes a bit faster ..
Chobits was really good too .. but I like FB a lot more.

I never seen the Fruits Basket anime, but I have some of the manga, but I find that it drags, so it kinda puts me off getting the anime. I have got the Chobits manga and anime and love both, especially the theme music
I felt really sad when Chii looked like she had her memory wiped at the end of the anime

Chobits that's allthere is to it... I mean Fruits basket was okay the story is good nice character list Kyo is my favorite and in chobits it's Chii or Kotoko lol
but yeah when it comes down to it, it's chobits hands down the best anime I've seen in a while...

Oh this is so hard! I'm in love with both of them, but since I can't pick both, I say Chobits. The Plot was well thought of and the little twist and turns between the characters always kept me hook. I thought the Couple parings and their situations help along the story, not dull the totally feeling of the main characters growing relationship.

I'll have to agree with iAmAbAnAnA.

I like the fruits basket Manga so much better then the actual anime.

There's just so much more information and depth to the characters.
-The secret behind Akito
-Kureno
-Rin
-Momo and Momiji
-Hari's new love intrest
-Yuki and Ayame's mom

There's just so many things that they don't show in the anime, it almost makes it too innocent and makes the anime seem like an actual spin off then the animated version of a manga.

I couldn't say that for Chobits though, I have the whole season of chobits in my room, but I've never read the manga.

I didn't like the ending very much..They didn't even kiss at the end! Yet He's seen Chii naked on more then one occasions...not to mention all the sexual inuendo. *sigh*

They were both decent series. But i'll have to say I like animated Chobits over Fruits basket in a sense..

but Fruits basket Manga definatly rules over animated chobits.


So in a, confusing, way. Furuba just dominates.

Besides, Shigure and Hatsuharu are in fruits baskets. Tehe.

I think the better Anime series is Chobits. However, the better Manga is Fruits Baskets. I would suggest seeing both because they rock, but I think reading FB the manga is a must, because it's deeper that the anime.
