Certificate of eligibility

Hello. I searched the forum for similar question and I didn't find, so I post new thread...Sorry if this subject was posted here before.
Anyway, this is my story...I found a job in a japanese company in Japan, they applied for the Certificate of Eligibility for me a month ago or so, and yesterday I got an e-mail from the company saying that unfortunately my application was rejected (I don't know what was the reason).
The person in my company dealing with this for me told me that they are going to ask a specialist for advice and then to reapply for the COE.
However, I fell really depressed and just don't know what to do... I have the impression that once the application was rejected, it means that everything is lost. I don't know much of the process, but is there still hope? I mean do you know such cases when someone reapplied and GOT finally the certificate???!
Honestly I don't know what to do and I'm totally shocked. I wonder how I could be so naive to think that I could just go there, spend a few months looking for a job and be happy living in Japan after having found one...
Please, if you have any info about reapplying for COE and chances to get it that way, please please tell me!!

The chances that your application will be accepted on the second try is quite high. That is if your sponsor, the company you plan to work at, does take legal advice and submits a better application the next time. I know cases where applications were rejected because of formal mistakes or poor explanation on the necessity of a foreigner for the job, but accepted on the second try if these mistakes where not repeated.

One more thing, it is different for each country and you might want to do some research on how the chances are for your particular country.

Kenasto, thank you very much for answering my post so fast!
I've just got an email from my company informing me about the reason for which the application was rejected, and obviously both the explanation written by the sponsor and details on my previous work experience (now I realize how poor it was) were insufficient. I hope that this time everything will be OK.
However I'm still anxious if it is not my education that was the main reason (I've got masters degree but only in Japanese Sciences... Of course I can't do anything with that now, but somehow I'm almost sure that it would be easier if it was more impressive than simply Japanese studies...)

Immigrations must be able to understand why the company would hire you instead of someone from Japan. If there is some benefit from hiring you they are more likely to accept the application. Japanese studies might help, too. But relevant work experience is probably more important. Maybe that can be highlighted in the application. Good luck! Don't give up, even if your application is denied a second time.

I'll try to reapply for the second time in a couple of weeks. I hope this time will be better (although I can't stop being pessimistic)

Hi.. I happened to be in the same situation and was browsing for any answers or related issues on my case.
Im married to a Japanese last May 2014 and tried to change my visa from tourist visa to spouse visa but unfortunately it was refused and was advised to apply for a certificate of eligibility instead.
I went back to my country and have travelled to Japan to visit my husband while we are waiting for the approval of COE.
We applied for a COE last Sept 2014 and was told Jan 2015 that it was refused for reason I dont understand and later they told my husband that I should have submit Marriage certificate from my country (we married here in tokyo!) and I should explain my travel history in Japan before I married my husband.
We tried submitting again for a COE application last Feb2015 at Shinagawa Immigration office together with documents certifiying our marriage in Tokyo--koseki tohon and residence cert and tax cert plus the documents they asked from my country and detailed travel history in Japan and other countries I visited for the past 10 years. High hopes that this time will be ok, I went back to my country before my tourist visa expires and waited for the result.
Surprise surprise! a letter came stating that my COE application is again refused for the second time.
Needless to say that Im so depressed and disappointed with what is happening to my application, it's been one year and still we havent got the results that we want.
I never did anything warui or have a criminal record in Japan or in any country that I visited, my husband pays his tax and is very well mannered person.
God knows I only wish to have a happy family.
Please I need any advice from anybody who had the same case or had been to this situation.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Your husband should be able to understand all the explanations by immigration, then explain the situation to you. What is your nationality? Maybe that's a problem.

I suggest the two of you get an immigration lawyer.
