Help Can someone translate this?

I got it from Kinkaku-ji Shrine in Kyoto .

In addition, the two kanji at the top is 金閣 Kinkaku, and the ones at the end is 守護 guard/protection. (The first two kanji is illegible to me, so I googled it.)
Kinkaku-ji is a Buddhist temple, not Shinto shrine, by the way. ("Ji" means temple.)

Darn! I initially wrote temple then I'm like nooo it's a shrine! Thank you for the translation! Would you mind translating the front too? This pic is clearer.
