Bush is really stupid...

If The November Election Was...

him running against Bin Laden, it would be a toss-up?

I think bin laden would win so many hardcore anti bush freaks out in the world they would elect bin laden... :giggle:

Besides, that video is nothing have you ever raised the question maybe he asked her for something to clean his glasses with and she said "just use my jacket" instead of going to get him a tissue or towel? Guess not.. Hence the video has nothing but loud music playing rather then what was really said.

If Bush ran against Osama in the 2004 Elections, let's just say the word "Bedlam" (and some) will come to mind.

I like your style. That's called critical thinking which is all too often absent when these kinds of things come up.

I tend to believe that Bush didn't ask but it's certainly possible and we really don't know; good job for taking the time to think.

If it where someone else besides bush I would take the time to think it over...but with such a irrational..stupid..arrogant pig as Bush.....Hell he ain't even worht it!!! ☝

Well, I must admit that even though I despise him, I thought the exact same thing playaa did. I thought that maybe the woman just told him to use her blouse. But who knows? :?

I pitty Bush. September 11 sealed his fate... i mean he was damned if he did go to war with Iraq, BUT he was damned if he didnt...he was doomed from the get go people would of hated him either way.

> such a irrational..stupid..arrogant pig as Bush

I'm not sure of the other two but he's definitely not stupid.

> i mean he was damned if he did go to war with Iraq, BUT he was damned if he didnt...

I disagree. He was the one that sold Iraq as an immediate threat and made the weak link with 9/11 in order to boost his case. He could have just as easily shown more restraint and he'd have received more domestic & international support for it.

first off, i think it likely she said it was o.k. i loathe bush and everything that he stands for...but one thing about right wing christian fundamentalist bigots is that they tend not too be rude in person like that.

too the first thing you said mdchachi...i disagree-he is not intelligent. he scored in the low 1200's on his SAT's(form of standardized testing in the states after high school) which by anyone i know, even my mechanics, is not intelligent enough by a longshot too be in politics. if your argument is that he has an undergrad from Yale and a masters from Harvard i will refute that too. he scored 200 points lower than the general rule of thumb admission at Yale, which is higher than 1400 for admittance. the fact that his two bush predecessors were Bonesmen (secret elitist society at Yale) and that his dean was a bonesmen also MIGHT have something too do with it-yes? furthermore, while at Yale bush struggled too maintain a C average...im sorry but too say this man is remotely intelligent is diminishing too the term and depressing for those that are intelligent.

It scares me to think where we would be now if Al Gore was the president. We would've had a few more major U.S. cities attacked by terrorists.

Hi Kuchi,

I disagree with both your opinions

> first off, i think it likely she said it was o.k. i loathe bush and everything that he stands for...
> but one thing about right wing christian fundamentalist bigots is that they tend not too be rude in person like that.

I bet she didn't give him permission. Even fundamentalist Christians can do rude things without thinking. Besides that TV show has replayed the clip several times to make fun of the incident. If he had been told to use her clothes, they probably wouldn't have made a big deal out of it.

Where are you getting your information about SAT scores? Using the official formula for comparing his scores to modern-day scores he places in the 85th percentile. Also the correlation from SAT scores to IQ gives him an IQ of 129.
Yes, his score was low by Yale standards but that doesn't mean he didn't have a respectable score by most standards. Certainly not low enough to call him stupid. Especially considering that he was a slacker and probably didn't study for the test that hard.

Even though this bio was written to ridicule Bush, even they make a point to dispel the myth about his intelligence: http://www.rotten.com/library/bio/presidents/george-w-bush/

My understanding is that he was a social animal and wasn't very studious. If he spent all his time studying and could only maintain a C, that would be different. And you're completely discounting his Harvard MBA which I've never heard anybody claim are particularly easy to get.

I'm not claiming that he's brilliant but the evidence shows him to have above average intelligence. Even if he was average, that wouldn't make him stupid.

Another essay worth reading: http://www.americanthinker.com/articles.php?article_id=3378

Even his Democratic opponants in the Iowa caucus, such as Rep. Gephardt, who worked with the president as part of the Congressional leadership, admitted that Bush was indeed a 'smart man' just one that happened to be not very interested in normal policymaking. And from watching this interview I can also attest that he put particular stress on smart giving any subsequent criticism that much more credibility.

"He's a nice man and he's a smart man, but he doesn't have experience, he doesn't have knowledge and he has no curiosity."

And SAT scores, or any other standardized test scores are not always a very good measure of intelligence. I know a lot of people that made extremely high scores on their SAT, but were really just like programmed robots. They were just good at memorizing things.

Unfortunately being intelligent doesn't stop you doing stupid things.
In fact sometimes you can say things like "He has to be quite intelligent to @X?! things up that much." ;-)

My largest disagreements with the Bush administration (which thankfully isn't my administration) are short-term-ism and a tendency to think of issues in black & white terms.

It's easy to do when you know that God is on your side. :p

The thing about God is that he's supposed to be on everybody's side.

The real question is whether you are on God's side. :?

Clearly he's not given to reflecting on his actions even to the point of not being able to come up with a single policy misstep since the terrorist attacks. How this computes with religion I'll never understand. Even the most fundamentalist preachers, Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, etc have admitted to certain sins of discrimination and narrowmindedness.

Randomme Google search comes up with this (rather old) gem.

http://www.observer.com/pages/story.asp?ID=5333

Short quote "And since it has lately become respectable to discuss his elevation to the nation窶冱 highest office as a matter of divine will, Mr. Bush窶冱 deep determination to empty the Treasury into the pockets of friends and supporters may likewise signify the unknowable agenda of the Almighty."

... although if you listen carefully you can probably hear axes being applied to grinders in the background. :p

As for Iraq, my opinion was that Bush needed someone to punish quick, fast and in a hurry for 9/11 to ensure another four years, and since he couldn't (and still can't) find Osama, the REAL villain of the piece, he went after the first available target, that being Saddam, so he sold the world a bill of goods about WMD's and a ficticious link between Saddam and Al Queda. And now Iraq's turned into a quagmire that Bush is having a hell of a hard time extracating himself from. As for another term, Bush had better think again, because I think he's sunk!

Finally, someone agrees with me!

Finally! I have said the same thing on this and every other forum on which I participate. It is a spin-off from the Stephen Stills line: "When you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with." In this case, we hammered the one we could find when the one we wanted to slug was unavailable. Saddam was stuck, stationary, and couldn't get away. The perfect patsy.

BTW, homey, GW is very much so "sunk" in the sense that he can't run again. Only two spins of the bottle per customer when you are the Prez. *grin* *wink*

I actually saw the episode AFTER he did this (which is when they aired it) andfrom what Letterman said when he presented the footage, she had absolutely no idea about it until after when she was shown the footage.

All I need to know is that our current President did cocaine, mary jane, booze, and danced on a pool table naked in a bar. That alone rules him out as a bonehead in my book.

Doc

I wouldn't go as far as saying that Bush is stupid. It's easy to say the he is, because he can't pronounce a few words properly. But as far a being a presidnet is concerned, Bush isn't up to code. I don't know what man is thinking about quite honestly.
