Brain of Jref

I'll post the score up on Sunday.

Answer to question 26 was Hawaii. I was hoping to see if anyone mentioned Alaska; same year, but in January; but none of you did.

Question 27:Who said, "....A woman is only a woman, but a good cigar is a Smoke."?

Answer to 27 is Rudyard Kipling.

Question 28: For 5 points. Name the current members of The GazettE.

Seeing the longest thread on Jref is about them, the band, hence the spelling with the capital E on the end of GazettE.
The answers are:
Ruki - Matsumoto Takanori; Aoi - Shiroyama Yuu; Kai - Uke Yutaka; Reita - Suzuki Akira; Uruha - Takashima Kouyou. I would have happily just accepted the names they use in the band.

This brings the scores so far as:
Tsuyoiko...................36
Lledargo...................15
Half-n-Half.................0
Dutch Baka................5
Hezam.....................12
FrustratedDave ........23
Ather .......................0
Mikawa Ossan...........2

Question 29: Who are the following: Sir Tor, Sir Mark, Sir Tristram and Sir Gawain?

Oh! Dave scored points fastly !
I think Tsuyoiko is our brain ^_* .............................................

I got two points without having to consult Wikipedia once! You see that smile on my face? That's contentment.

It would appear you have won Tsuyoiko, congrats to you. Also good job everyone else who competed.

Lledargo, it continues until the 18th of December, unless you wish it to end?

The answer to question 29 was they are all knights of the round table.

Question 30: What is the sum of the following: This piece of music

The distance of the 11 letter of the alphabet, Jules Vernes' nautical tale and the portrait of Fukuzawa Yukichi found in a japanese wallet?

Woah, this has to be the most difficult one yet! I need to sleep on this one :D

The answer to 30 is 32001. The piece of music is part of Scheherazade, which is the name of the princess in 1001 nights. The 11th letter is K and refering to distance gives us the kilometre which means 1000 metres. The Jules Verne nautical tales is 20 000 Leagues under the sea and the portrait of Fukuzawa Yukichi found in a japanese wallet is the 10 000 yen note. 1001+1000+20000+10000=32001.

Only one answer recieved and very well done. Easy one next.

Question 30: Who is Vincent Damon Furnier better known as?

Cool! I was torn between 1001 and 35 for Scheherazade, because it's Rimsky-Korsakov's Opus 35.

Who answered Q30 ? Tsuyoiko ?
Yes.

I was looking for some link with 1001 nights. I thought the music was the best way.

Answer to question 31 is Alice Cooper.

Question 32: In Japanese what are Unagi and Anago?

I'm going to have to cry a mistake on 32, as it was badly worded. I realised it when I saw Dutch Bakas answer and Frustrated Daves. The answer I was looking for was eels, but I won't count the score due to my error. So 32 is void and no points given.

Question 33: What type of sub-atomic particles are Up, Down, Top, Bottom, Charmed and Strange?

So it's not eels ?
could we have some cultural questions :? it won't be easy to find it in Wikipedia....

You were correct, the answer I wanted was eels, but they way the question was worded as if I wanted the japanese for them instead of the english answer. My fault.

Answer to 33 was Quarks. All answers recieved were correct.

Question 34: How old is the K-T Line (+/- 1 million years)?

Answer to 34 is 65.5 million years. All answers recieved were correct.

Question 35: Toshiro Mifune, Chiyonosuke Azuma, Masayuki Yui and Makoto Kobori have all played which historical figure?

Answer I wanted for 35 is Ieyasu Tokugawa. Toranaga was the name given in Shogun , but Toshiro Mifune did play him as Ieyasu Tokugawa in Shogun Warrior.

Question 36: What type of Sushi is this?

s1-1.webp

Answer to 36 is Makizushi. Very nice too, especially when I do it at home for myself.

Question 37 is for three points: What side did Aeneas fight on during the Trojan war, what city did he go onto found and what was the name of the Queen that committed suicide when he left her?
