"Babel", had the most nominations from Golden Globe
J-story, deaf-mute, teaneger, with her mothers recent suicide.
At the end, was the girl gowing to throw herself off the balconey,
like she said to the policeman (which she tried to seduce).
The movie "Babel" is three different stories which are tied togethor.
Story one; An American couple on vacation in Morocco
Story two; Mexican maid, of the American couple, lives in San Diego (near Mexico). She is middle aged. Has family in Mexico (actually the saddest ending).
Story three; A Japanese family, the one child is a deaf-mute teenager, who is very smart. The mother has recently committed suicide.
I personally like it because I was taken with the whole story, I sympathized with the characters especially the children. The Japanese side in relation to what goes on in the West is somewhat small but is moving nonetheless. The focus is on the Kikuchi Rinko's character more than the father, played by Yakusho Koji, who was in Morocco on vacation. Anyway, I recommend it!
