No, I am not a robotic engineer. But Robot Contest is usually broadcatsed via TV as one of major sponsors is NHK. Robot Contest is really fun to see.

I've seen Asimo in person as well, but I don't find the current state of robotics to be particularly impressive. I'm not worried about any "I, Robot" situations happening in my lifetime.

If you would read the "I Robot" book instead of the horribly made movie, you would have nothing to fear from robots.

Agreed... robots are already autonomous and they are quite helpful. I can see them walking around in 20 years.

"I Robot" was not at all what I expected. The movie is like an extra story from the collection of short stories in the "I, Robot" book by Isaac Asimov. I LOVE HIS STORIES!

Though, perhaps, cybernetics will have progressed faster and robotic technology will become an extention of ourselves before the actual robots like the ones in "I Robot" are comon place.

I mean... look at us now. We have cell phones and hand held wifi game consols which can do almost anything.... They are extentions of our bodies by hand or head (bluetooth).

I am wondering how we should set a new case law about Mosquito v. DER3 referring to three laws of robotics and what sort of local Thai law should be applied if DER3 was not willing to be kissed by good-looking Thai actors.
