I was taught nai form for Godan Verbs have to be changed from u-sound to a-sound.
For example : nomimasu - nomanai, kakimasu - kakanai
Aruku also belongs to the Godan verb category, but why is it arukenai in its nai form, isn't it supposed to be arukanai?

Oh I get it now, thank you for pointing out my mistake! :)

No problem.

The potential form can be very easy to miss in many cases, as the difference with some verbs is very small and buried in the middle of the word.
