Depends on your deffinition of ghost... Ghost seems to have a varying deffinition. To some people it means dead spirits, to others it means demons, and.... i'm not going through all the deffinitions.

There is more to this world than what we see or think we know, but I have never seen or felt the presence of a ghost, nor has anyone that I have met.
I have, however, read several accounts of Yogis who predicted the exact time of their own deaths, and have shed their bodies as if they were merely a piece of clothing. I have also read of yogic masters who returned to their bodies after death, or even inhabited other bodies.

The intresting question, though, would be that how much is it we see or don't see and how much do we hear about it as fact or fiction. Perhaps if we don't see it, we may have the wrong idea bout it. For all we know, plants have souls and we get punished after death by being steppedon by every plant that stepped on us... Not that i beleive that we will be tortured by plants, but can we really beleive that anyone has experienced these things? I have a rather intresting explimation for why we count as things that shoudln't be of this world... lol

I've meditated and studied enough to realize that I still know very little about the unconditioned self and higher consciousness, and that speculation about such things does nothing but feed ignorance. Reading the works of a great spiritual master, their understanding of the greater reality quickly becomes apparent. I prefer to show respect for those that have a greater understanding so I may learn all that I can from them. But this thread is about apparitions, so let's try to stick to the subject at hand.

Like i said, ghosts happen to have a variable meaning. Ghosts (though not in a dictionary that i know of) can have a meaning of a memory that "haunts" you during the day. I know a guy who knows a guy who had a memory of an itch. He tried to scratch his foot, but he couldn't because he lost it in an accident a few months ago.

Actually been tested. If you beleive in ghosts, you'll see more. If some one says a place is haunted, you'll see even more (even if you dont' beleive in them). The more roomy a place is, the more you see them.
And that's in places that aren't really haunted. lol

Numerous people, i lost the list of names a while ago... i wish i kept them though... i think it was either on the history or sci-fi channel.
It does fit that deffinition of ghost though. lol Though i don't beleive your foot has an individual spirt of it's own that'll haunt you. Man that would suck though.

I got that, there was no need to respond to it. I was talking about the condition you described about amputated limbs. There are physiological reasons behind it, it is not a supernatural event.

I've never seen a ghost. But then again, that's probably because I don't believe in them. (Note: I am not saying I don't believe in 'another plane' of existence, because I do think that is a possibility, but I don't believe in 'ghosts' in the sense of seeing something that looks like the figure of someone who has died, to take a narrow definition of it. ^^)
But I have always wanted to see one! >_< ... it would be a cool way of being proved wrong.

I didn't actually "see" the ghost, but I saw a dessert cup move by itself where I worked. I was a dishwasher at a convalescent hospital ("old folks' home") when I was in high school. The incident happened in the kitchen. It made me a believer.

I watched a skateboarding video that toured Japan yesterday and one of the pro skateboarders in it is dead and so in a sense I was watching a ghost since in the video he was very much alive.

I haven't seen a ghost and don't think I will. BTW shouldn't a ghost be a haunting and screaming invisible thing not like a Casper ghost...
Although I'd be interested in seeing some wondering lost spirit like that of an old warrior maybe samurai ...bit dramatic but interesting I think!

Saw a ghost when I was younger...a young aboriginal boy in our lounge room, My sister saw him too.
Also had an experience the night that my Grandmother died. I dreamt that she had come to say good bye and that she would always love me and look after me. I woke in the morning knowing with absolute certainty that she had died. I mentioned this to my mother who wasnt very impressed but within half an hour we had a phone call.....I still talk to her and really believe that she is looking out for me....

Actually, Japan is full of ghost stories. I've been to Yokota AFB last weekend. There's an entire apartment building vacant, because it's allegedly inhabited by a ghost. After a US airman saw the spectre of a little boy, a Shinto priest declared the buiding to be haunted. True? Who knows? The building is not used by the USAF.
