Anyone saw Brother Bear???

I know I know...this is a bit of an older movie allready but I just saw it today, and I just loved it!!!They can make animated movies and cartoons sooooo emotional...and it's just drawed stuff...to create such things that make a LOT of people's emotions change is remarkable Sometimes the story is so sad it makes you cry ...To make movies like this is a gift a guess!!!
Anyone else saw this, if so what'd you think about it??

My wife & I love such animation! I have almost every Disney cartoon made. I started watching cartoons in 1954 and haven't tired of them yet. And I will admit to crying at the sad parts and blaming my allergies!

Yes, RockLee, I saw it and loved it. Made me cry, too. Awesome animation and awesome story.

Remember the cave drawings? Who were the monsters in this story -- the bears or the human hunters?

That is what I mean by empathy. No need to be or feel ashamed of it. Quite fine and best to embrace it. It moves us to compassion and mercy and this story speaks straight to the heart of the values of those characteristics.

We seem to have a lot in common, RockLee.

I saw the movie, but I was so tired that I couldn´t finish it. So I still need to finish it, because I also have heard from people around me that it´s a great movie.

I did saw How´s moving Castle yesterday, but I guess I have to make another thread about that!

I see value in a variety of styles. The spectrum of acceptability is quite wide. I am sure most of us would not like to be clones in style or opinions of one another.

Back to RockLee`s outstanding thread topic here: Brother Bear.

People of hundreds, if not thousands of years ago -- even recently -- did not always view animals as their subserviant slaves or just animals to be harvested. At times they viewed them with respect -- creating the beliefs in "totems" spiritual guides in the forms of animals that they were united with in some special way. There was respect. And if there was not, the message in this film is that there should be.

This movie imparts that spirit of respect. It tells us that while we yield the spear of death, it, too can be pointed at us and therefore that terror we instill in others is wrong, for if we were in the other position, we would hope that our fate would not be one that found our bodies skewered.

I think there is deep meaning in the title of this movie and the promotional image below. It speaks to me in a quite poignant way.

Yeah a good movie that. I'd promote it for film viewing in schools as it has plenty of good solid values to teach children the least of which is to treat everything and everybody with respect.
