Anyone else not like the holidays?

I have never been into the whole 'Christmas cheer' thing...

I despise most Christmas music, find most decorations lacking in originality... now don't get me wrong, I enjoy giving and getting presents as much as the next guy, but I don't like the seasonal cheerfulness.

Maybe the fact of my father abandoning mmy mother and I on Thanksgiving Day about 7 years ago has me in a funk around the holidays (more so than normal, at least)

Anywho, anyone else have the holiday season woes?

I'm just not into Christmas at all. "'Tis the season to be jolly" - what? Why not just be jolly all the time? But anyways, I just find the whole thing to be annoying, materialistic crap with no real meaning (for the majority of people that celebrate it, that is) that goes on for way too long. You have to put up with decorations and music all over the place from the beginning of October, it's ridiculous. We all just end up with less money and gifts that no one wants or needs.

But I'm going to stop before I rant too much.

Well let's see, I don't like Christmas music, but that is about thew extent of my hating of the holidays. It's just an excuse for people to try to be happy, so I don't think that it's stupid and all that. Your dad left when you were twelve? Well mine left when I was two, and I still enjoy the holidays. Lighten up man, it's just people trying to have a little fun. I think it's good we have holidays, plus you get free stuff and time off school or work.. Heh.

I dont celebrate holidays other than Thanksgiving and Halloween, but the rest of my family does, and its fun to see them all flock together and annoy each other. Its good for them, so that makes me smile.

Also at my store, I use Christmas as an excuse to give people ridiculous discounts on items, and to screw the corp. office out of money.
