an excellent tip Gaki, I did that as well. I used to buy magazines like Vogue and used the poses of the models for sketches. They help to give you great practice on the dynamics of how humans move. Most of models are in dynamic poses so you get a great variety of human movement to practice on. Its also good for geting proportions down. Most models fit the ideal proportions for human beauty so if you nail the ideal human shape, you can easily make the non ideals shape. Just make sure you get some male models as well to draw. After a while of practicing you will get good enough to draw these proportions and movements without the aid of pictures. That what you should be aiming for because it is the basis of being able to draw well. The other side of it is you need to understand lighting, but you have a pretty good sense of that as I can see from your picture.
By the way, I posted one of my works on the picture post-board... well its a photo of me with a painting I did. I should say its a copy of a famous manga that I painted, but I fell in love with the pose so I used it.. I have one other and one did that I did my own posing for... (although not as good)
That's an idea Silver Angel, pics of when we were small! Here is me out side Hampton Court London when i was 3 years old. Apparently my father used to carry this one in his wallet.
Thanks for the tips Noyhauser!
XD Another! ^_^ My writing skills for Japanese is wayyyyyyyyyyy off. I was actually looking off a card someone gave me so I was copying off it (The Japanese writing) My angel in training I gave to a friend of mine for her birthday!
Here some drawings of my girlfriend. I really think she rox...
But she doesn't think that way :/ she knows she's good but isn't happy with the results, lol
That is so frustrating !!
If you have any advice or an opinion about her drawings, please post it here...I'm sure she will be pleased with any comment or advise!
she made allot of manga drawings as well...but i don't have them on my computer yet...if you would like to see those too i will scan them and post them here aswell...
those are all really badass especially the dragon one. and they are really clean for being scanned, whenever my roomate scans his drawings they end up dirty looking and you can see all the pencil marks.
im just gonna leave my thoughts on the forum but out of curiosity how would we email your girlfriend, is she also a member?
