Am I the only person who isn't into AKB48?

AAaarghh! For some reason, I think my brain is on AKB48 overload! I hear some of their songs far too often. "I want you....I need you..."

They are so popular right now, but for some reason I'm really not feeling that group. I don't hate them, I think if you're successful that's awesome, but I'm definitely not a fan. It just doesn't strike me as real music...just like a popcorn, manufactured, fad...but maybe it's just me.

I think a couple of their songs are pretty catchy, or maybe they are just catchy because I hear them all the time @_@. Can't say I'm really a fan though. I know what you mean by it not sounding like "real" music. It all sounds like its done on a keyboard and as far as I know the members don't write the lyrics/music; they just have a pretty face, sing and dance to choreo. As far as I understand, though, a lot of the "idol" groups operate this way. They're just a face to make the company money.

Oh, and by the way, it's not "I want you...I need you..." it's "I want YOUUUUUUUUU...I need YOUUUUUUUUUU..."

I think that's the best way to describe their music...catchy! You're right though, a lot of the bands have the same formula. Grab some good looking girls or guys who can hold a tune (sometimes that's not even necessary), give them some catchy music...and away you go.

it's crazy how manufactured these songs are. not that it is unusual, and the tunes definitely are catchy, but thats just it. music writers learn the maths behind what sounds good to the human ear and wham bam, its done.

what irk's me more than the lack of personality behind the music is that they are using the sex sells equation with high school girls. and damn the people behind those groups must be raking it in.

i saw a picture of those girls advertising rice (i think as a healthy food). i wonder if the company takes a cut of the advertising the girls do to...?

Have never listened to them. I just can't get past the candy pop 12yr old sound and looks no matter what age they are.

I am also one who doesn't care, I interviewed a few of them at Anime Expo 2010 and was just not too interested, cute and all but musically I don't care

I want youuuuuu I neeedd youuuuuuu.... It's just horrible I changed to Korean girl bands now
