Ok I have come down to just two guest houses and wanting to know experiences and a few goods/bads to help my decision...

The two I have is New Koyo, and Shrek Watta House, these two are cheapest.. I also am looking to be close to Shinjuku/Roppongi and other good entertainment places of Tokyo, (to cut down on transportation prices) from the look it seems that Shrek Watta is closer.. Also if you have any suggestions for guest houses in Shinjuku that are still cheap please add them here.

Anyway, if you stay within the Tokyo Metro network, you usually won't pay more than 190 yen for more than 6 stops or so (instead of the minimum 160 - so you wouldn't save more than 30yen, i.e. 2,8 cents). You said in another thread that you were ready to pay for business class, but you want to kep cost down on subway ? That doesn't make sense. I guess upgrading your flight to business will cost you more than all your accommodation, food and transportation expenses for 1 week in Tokyo. (I guess about 200$ for 7 nights at new Koyo + aveerage of 25$/day for food and drinks... altogether with the subway, I'd say less than 500$ for the week, while upgrading to business wll probably be over 1000$).

If you want to go often to Roppongi, just make sure that your hotel is on a convenient line (Hibiya or Oedo), as otherwise you will have to change a lot and make long detour, as it is quite isolated.

Well, I wasn't saying I was ready to upgrade to business.. As I do know I checked prices and my $670 flight becomes around $1400.. But I mainly am looking into things a bit much, as I do not want to get to Japan and be overwhelmed by having little money (I expect to have around $3,000.00 for 2 weeks, to spend)

EDIT: Also as you stated, I want pretty easy access to other spots in Tokyo, and not too long of travel to get there...

If you really "have to" spend 3000$, why staying at the New Koyo, which is the cheapest hotel in Tokyo, when you could go to a 4-star ? You can't possibly use that much money on food (average 5 to 10$ a meal at restaurants), except if you eat all the time at luxury French restaurant (but still you can manage on 30-50$ each time), and won't use more than 4500yen in transportation even if you spend your days in the train, as a one-day-unlimited-travel-ticket inside Tokyo is 700yen (but if you use the taxi 5x a day, then yes, but that is really not necessary and I have used it only twice with some friends, never on my own). You could buy lots of souvenirs, see all the most expensive museum and staying just 10min in each, but otherwise it's hard to spend 3000$ in 1 week in Tokyo staying at the New Koyo.

Picking on me about the New Koyo ? :/ its for 2 weeks btw, that would be expensive to stay somewhere like The Prince hotel or Imperial Palace.. some of those for 2 weeks are like US$ 2,000.00 I want to only spedn around 500 at the most for the hotel, so if you got any other ideas please le tme know Thanks for critiscism though, I know your only helping..

Are you wondering also about the cost of entertainment and nightlife in Tokyo, playaa?
Although I stay with friends, even including the cost of a JR rail pass ($285.00) I have trouble spending $380.00 a week (usually no more than $2.90 a day for transportation and maybe $5.00 for one convenient store meal + drinks). A couple museum visits at $12-15, the same for omiyage, otherwise reliant on my hosts to foot the bill.

Well I will be doing a good bit of nightlife (bars/clubs/parties) I also will want to do sight seeing during the day.. And then take 3 days to go to Osaka/Kyoto ...
