Hey guys, I'm new on the forum nice meet everyone:joyful: I'll keep this very this quick. When a dating a lady in American culture, once we set a first date we often tend to avoid contacting them until that day for a few reasons: to give them space, build anticipation and avoid running out of topics. So I was wondering If the same social rules apply in Japanese culture, I don't want to hurt a Japanese lady's feelings through some cultural Faux Pas.

Any advice would help.

Thanks everyone :-)

I thought it was only a problem if you avoid contacting women after the first date.

Same as Thomas just follow your heart. Show interest in her ,but don't overdue it, and see how she responds on it.

Keep us up to date!

Best advice I ever received....don't make it weird works everywhere. If you run into her say hi. If she texts you respond normally. If you are going to run out of conversation if you talk to her beforehand you are likely in real trouble :P.

I don't follow those rules when dating. I go with my feelings. If I want to see her again and go on another date, I'll ask her out. If I want to talk to her, I'll text or call. I don't think there are any real rules regarding dating since every one's situation is different. Go with the flow and as Speedy Japanese says, don't make it weird. Hang out with her, find out what she likes and how she views relationships and take it from there. Good luck!!
