A little help please- edit button on post not working properly

I did a new thread in the serious discussions section however there seems to be some sort of glitch/bug in the forum.
Because the opening post of the thread was pretty long, i decided to cut it into two posts by copying and deleting the latter part of the post and then pasting it into a quick reply, so i then had two opening posts of relatively large size instead of just one colossal one. Weirdly though, the second post both merged with the original one (i edited out the merge) but at the same time displayed itself as a second post (which i wanted to keep).
Anyways, as i was reading through what i had just written, i noticed i needed to edit some of the spelling/wording in the second post- but for some weird reason whenever i click on the edit button at the bottom of the second post, it automatically directs me to the first post, so i am unable to edit the second post for spelling.

Any help with this problem is much appreciated !

Time between postings will keep the doublepost edit from happening. Carefully thought out OPs (or posts as well) will enhance layout, and set aside editing trouble.

A fairly long OP/post is easy to follow, thus read, if it's laid out well, and not so conversational like. Although length, especially on an OP, should probably be kept as short as possible...otherwise, a fair number of readers may likely start to skim, and miss some point.

Yeah i agree, i should probably reduce the size of the thread- i think i often end up doing such long posts because i fear that if i don't explain myself thoroughly enough then people will misinterpret my points, however i agree that did make the posts so long in this case that it probably defeats this point on its own. I'll go through the thread later and see what i can do about reducing its size .
