Who do you think the greatest person in japanese history??
What was the most coolest and wonderful history of Japan?
You know Japan has a lot of history and many important people.
It dose not matter bad or good one.

3 Shoguns

The three greatest shoguns were Oda Nobunaga , Toyotomi Hideyoshi , and Tokugawa Ieyasu . You can learn more about them in the 'Nitobe Bushido' thread.

In modern Japanese usage, yes. Back then, it had a different more specific usage.

Miyamoto Musashi is my personal favorite!! but the one person that had that the greatest impact on Japan is Tokugawa Ieyasu . He single handedly changed the course of Japan.

I have just heard about a great Japanese hero who I can't believe I never heard of before.

Chiune Sugihara was Japanese consul to Lithuania during World War II. He granted visas to Jewish refugees, often in violation of his orders, and it is estimated that he saved the lives of between 6,000 and 10,000 Jews.

Date Masamune was the man. A master of war, ambitious, hostile towards the authority of others and with a good sense of diplomacy.

And he has been made to take poison by mother.
When he attacked Odemori Castle at 19 years old, he murders all the enemies whom there was more than 500 people.

I feel his cruelty when describe only a historical fact,
Though there are his various reasons in it.
When he was careless,
His father is abducted by an enemy.
Father wished he was murdered with an enemy for Masamune.
Hideyoshi Toyotomi rules over the central government, and Hideyoshi comes to Kanto and Tohoku for the conquest.
Date is divided in surrender group and the resistance group.
His mother carries out his assassination for the continuation of the whole families
However, she fails.
He hesitates about murdering mother and executes a younger brother as the ringleader of anti-Masamune group.
She escapes to parents' house (Mogami).
When Mogami fell, 29 years later, she comes back for the cause of Masamune.
He spends the eventful life, but there are a lot of interesting heroes as well as him.

For example,
Kenshin Uesugi
He fought only for justice.
He had not fought for self-interest and, besides, was invincible.
Kenshin Uesugi defeats Oda of the double military power by a fight of Tedorigawa.
Therefore Nobunaga Oda feared him.

Favorite Heros

Being from Massachusetts, I am fascinated by the story of Majiro Nakahama, a young fisherman,who at age 14 was shipwrecked along with four of his friends on an island far off the Japanese mainland in 1841... Rescued by an American whaling boat, he returned to New Bedford, Ma with Captain Whitfield.... Where he would spend the next 12 years at the Oxford School, in Fairhaven, MA...
