Hello Everyone. In a desperate sign of hope I am posting here to try and fish for any information I can find on this. If you have gotten the MEXT scholarship from the Chicago consulate I would really love to hear from you.
So I applied last year to the Chicago Consulate for a second masters and made it to the interview. I knew going in that my research proposal wasn't the best but was pleasantly surprised when I was invited to the interview. Obviously I didn't pass the interview and did not get the scholarship, which is why I am here now. I worked hard on revising my research proposal, got stronger letter's of recommendation from last year, and was invited to the interview again this year which I had earlier this week. I still have some lingering doubts about my materials, one of them being that I got my undergrad and first Masters from the same university, and my Japanese is not the best. I think I am somewhere near a low N3. I can go into more detail about me and my materials in case anyone is interested.
Anyways, like I said at the top I am posting this in hopes that anyone has any information on how many people get this scholarship a year from the Chicago consulate? I know there is nothing published anywhere, but if anyone who has ever gotten the scholarship could shed some light, that would be great!
