I had nothing to do for a moment so I thought I'd look up some common words in Japanese that use the Kanji 議 (ぎ) (gi). (What do you do in your spare time? 😊 ) And now I'm wondering..

The difference between 会議 and 議会 seems obivious. The first, kaigi, means "meeting" (in general) whereas the second means the Diet, congress or parliament.

But what's the difference between 議論 and 論議!? And the difference between 決議 and 議決!? Giron and rongi both seem to mean "discussion", and ketsugi and giketsu both seem to mean resolution..

I hope somebody can clarify this.. 😅
