Question 謙譲語 with と伝えていただけませんか ?

Hello!

I've come across this sentence in my Minna textbook:

じゃ、後でもう一度お電話しますと伝えていただけませんか。​

お電話します appears to me to be 謙譲 usage. Minna has said that と伝えて… constructions always take plain form in the message preceding, but am I to assume that the humble construction can supersede this rule?

There is no problem to use polite or humble forms as a direct quotation/speech.
