I wish to do a tattoo and avoid the mistakes of others in this area.

My idea is this a question and an answer form like so:

"Are you a saint" 聖者であるか。

"No, I am a sinner" 否、私は罪人である .

It that right as stated the auto translate engine are very bad .

I know this means a sinner -person 罪人, and this is no 否 but is the context O K.

thanks from advance for any help

Yes, auto translate engine is not good, but I think that is OK in this case.

NANGI

so the translation is good?.

thanks for the replay.

Not ok! sounds lame! you do not want that tattooed on you. there are many different ways you could say it, and it's important to choose the way that you like. are you male? if so, you should most definitely use 俺 instead of 私.

here's my recommendation:

"Are you a saint" ... actually this is tricky since there's no context to go by. 聖者ですか。 i think is best.

"No, I am a sinner" いや、俺は罪人さ。

sounds much better
