気分 versus 気持ち

I had supposed 気分 is more on the physical sense while 気持ち is more on the emotional state.
However the more I search for the difference of usage between them on the net, the more I become unsure.
There seems to be conflicting information around.
 
That's because the meanings are partially overlapping between those two words. For instance, 気持ちが悪い can be used also for "to feel sick", and 気分が悪い can be "to feel bad mentally". Actually, the difference is a bit hard to summarize, and furthermore, there is one more similar word 機嫌...
 
There is another one too, 調子, which is supposedly referred to the physical condition only of everything including human health.
