Hello!

1. 在留届に変更があったり、未だに変更届を提出されてい ない方は、至急提出頂きますようお願いします。

Translation given: "We ask that those who have had a change to their residence report and have not yet submitted a change report please do so as quickly as possible."

a) I assume 提出されて is honorific, right?

b) Although it's obviously very laborious in English, Is the last part literally:

お願いします = We request ...
よう = (that you act) in such a way (that) ...
頂きます = we receive (the change report)

2. 彼にとってこんなテストは何でもないことだった。目標 はもっと高いところにあった。

My attempted translation: "For him, this kind of test was nothing. His marks were higher (than other people's)."

Is this anywhere close? I'm especially unconfident about the second sentence, and whether 目標 means "marks" (as in an test), or something more like "goals"...

3. The speaker has been given a list of prospective marriage partners by her parents.

女: 週末にここから一人だけ選んで、会わなくちゃい けないの。それで、どれにしようかなって。

I get "Every weekend from now on I have to choose one person to meet." Then I'm not sure if the next part just means something like "I wonder which one I should choose", or if it's referring to her saying the rhyme 神様の言うとおり... (which is a theme of this particular lesson). The って at the end is making me incline towards the latter, but I'm not sure.

4. その手紙の日付は1987年4月1日となっている。

Translation given: "The letter is dated April 1, 1987."

What is the significance of となっている here (as opposed to simply です, say)?

1) a)
Yes. 👍 (You've already had some confidence in your interpretation, right? ;))

b)
頂きますようお願いします≒頂きますことをお願いしま す

よう is used as a kind of nominalizer here.

[6] (形式名詞的に用いて)
(ア) 発言や思考の内容。こと。
-------------------
(イ) 発言や思考の引用を導く言葉。…こと(には)。
「よう」の検索結果 - Yahoo!辞書
提出頂きます=提出して頂きます

頂く is an auxiliary verb.

2)
"Goal" would be more close. Also, もっと高いところ might refer to "higher than taking (and passing) this test".

3)
どれにしようかなって=どれにしようかなって思って

って at the sentence end shows that this sentence is an explanation for the listener.(I assume the speaker was asked something like "What are you doing?" in the preceding sentence.)

By the way, 週末 would be "this weekend" here.

4)
Umm, it's hard to explain, but the nuance is more close to ~と書いてある than just ~だ.

Hi Toritoribe, thanks for your reply.
By the way, 週末 would be "this weekend" here.
Originally I thought 週末にここから meant

週末に = at weekends
ここから = from here = from now on

However, if 週末に means "this weekend", then I'm wondering how ここから fits. Is it possible it actually means "(choose) from these (photographs)" (she is looking at a bunch of photographs of prospective partners)?

es, that's exactly what the sentence means. "Every weekend from now on" should be これから毎週末/これから週末ごとに. In addition, 週末に is modifying 会わなくちゃいけないの, i.e., that's ここから一人だけ選んで、週末に会わなくちゃいけない の.

Of course, that would be これから. Thanks, it's all clear now.
