Stumbled over this in an article about applying external cooling to a smartphone (which makes for interesting pictures indeed). It has the following sentence:

SoCやチップセット冷やすとなればヒートシンクだ。

Making an approximate translation is easy enough: "When it comes to cooling SoC's and chipsets, (the appropriate/standard solution) is a heatsink". However I'm confused about the と marked in bold: I'd expect を there. It's not "and" or "with", nor is it a quotation or a conditional. So what is it?

I think probably 「を」 isolates the chipset or the SoC too much, as if they were the only thing being cooled down, when in fact the cooling system cools down other things as well as the chipset.

Kraise-san's interpretation "just a typo of を" is correct. From the context, the writer intended to make only "SoC or chipset" cool down.

やはり、SoCのある部分を効率よく冷やすことを考えれば、
SoCやチップセット冷やすとなれば

Indeed, they start out cooling only the smartphone's CPU and expand from there.
Thank you! I guess the 編集担当 mentioned in the article was in a hurry and missed it.
