What is this よそ?


2. オリバー・ウッドが授業の合間に急いでやってきては、ハリーに指示を与えた。

What is the purpose of は here?


3. 「すると、何かね」

The speaker is complaining about an unsatisfactory situation. Does it literally mean "Well then, that's something, isn't it" (implied to be a bad something)?


4. あなたのライフスタイルを見直してみましょう。

Could this be an imperative? Or is it always a "let's ..." sentence? How do you tell? I find the variety of imperatives in Japanese so confusing.


5. 「冬の時代」が大学改革の起爆剤となってくれればと思 う。

Is くれればと思う expressing the speaker's expectation?

That's usually used as a preface of an explanation. 何 refers to what follows it, often what (the speaker thinks) the addressee wants to say.
e.g.
すると、何かね、こっちが間違ってるとでも言いたいのかね？

That would be an imperative. It sounds like a headline of a book, article or something. If the speaker is a consultant who is offered by the addressee, あなたのライフスタイルを一緒に見直してみましょう can be possible, for instance.
