1. A student is writing to a friend:

元気？冬休みが始まってほとんど会わないね。

My translation: "How are you? Now that the winter holidays have started, I hardly see you."

Is that correct?


2. 「危ないですから、俺が拾いますよ」「大丈夫だから・・・いたっ！」「ほら、いわんこ っちゃない」

Translation given: "That's dangerous, I'll clear it up." "It's OK ... Ouch!" "Look, didn't I tell you so?"

I know いわんこ っちゃない is a set expression meaning "I told you so", but how does it work internally?


3. 家の戸の前には体の大きい赤鬼と青鬼がわらでできたみのを着て・・・

Is 体の大きい = 体が大きい, i.e. 大きい describes 体 and then 体の大きい modifies 赤鬼と青鬼?


4. 私のおじはアメリカ人兵士と写真をとったのよ。

What is the function of と? Was it a photo of someone (possibly the speaker) with the American soldiers? Or is と simply a standard particle to mark the subject of a photograph?


5. その写真には若いアメリカ人の兵士さんたちと日本人のお百姓さんが一人写っていました。

My translation: "In the photograph were a group of young American soldiers with a Japanese farmer."

Does 一人 merely mean that there was only one 百姓さん in the picture in case 百姓さん is understood as plural, or does it have connotations of "alone", "by himself"?
