あなたに触れた喜び
笑顔に触れたい

What meaning does 触れる have in regards to the above sentences?

When I've looked it up in dictionaries it says "to touch" (in the physical sense) or "to feel, come in contact with, experience" but I'm not sure which one is the right one here.

Would it mean to physically "to touch you"/ "I want to touch your smile" or the less literal definition?
I thought the first sentence might have a similar meaning to 出逢う?

According to the dictionary.
触れる
触れる(ふれる)の類語・言い換え - 類語辞書 - goo辞書
"別々の物の表面が軽く接触する。"
Your post seems a bit lyrical, I'm not sure if thats a piece of poetry or a song, but, In my experience,
The first sentence:
"あなたに触れた喜び"
alone, this one stands around the lines of "the joy that touched you"
"笑顔に触れたい"
"Wants to experience/touch your smiling face"

A more experienced input might as well correct me or add to my sloppy attempt to answer you.

Thank you for replying. Yes, the first line is a lyric, the other something I've come across a few times when reading.

Oh! I've misunderstood the first line... I thought it was the speaker's joy. 😌

I myself am a bit confused if its possible to translate the first one as "The joy of having touched you"

The interpretation that 喜び is the subject of 触れた can be possible in the first line, but "the speaker's joy" is more common.
As for the second line, I think it's a lyrical expression of "I want to see your smile".
