I see 'nan' in sentences at a lot in seemingly random places, but I know there must be some sort of rule to it. What does nan do in a sentence? Is it short for 'na no'? (I'm still a little shaky on the rule of using 'na no')

I knew there was something deja vu about that question!

Ahh. I remembered that thread for nante and other smaller details, but I completely forgot it was all about nan in the first place. Thank you for the reminder.
