Question で When I Expected を

In my exercise workbook I found the following two sentences:
A. 外国旅行の時、お金は現金で持って行かないほうがいいですよ。
B. 夕方雨だと思いますから、傘を持って行ったほうがいいですよ。

Would someone please explain the use of で in sentence A? I had been expecting を instead, as in sentence B.

If 「お金は」 weren't in there, then yes, を (or the contrastive は) would be more appropriate.

Since it is in there, you can think of this as saying it's best not to carry money "in the form of" or "by means of" cash (with the nuance, of course, being that you should instead bring a payment method in the form of credit cards, traveler's checks, etc.)
