くらい and adjectives

A: この部屋とその部屋とどちらの方が大きいですか。
B: どちらも同じくらいです。

this is an example of comparing similarities in my textbook. what does くらい mean in this case? what does it mean in any sentence? I've seen it's 'counterpart' ぐらい. does both mean the same thing? what is its kanji?

am i right to say that ~ちら means there are only two objects?


i know that there are the i- and na- adjectives, but is there another type of adjective, the 'noun' adjectives? like 桃色 and 茶色 and 緑 which uses の to describe nouns, like 緑の傘.

くらい／ぐらい is like "approximately", "almost", "about"...so B is saying that both rooms are about the same size (同じくらい). It would be written in kanji as 位 but usually it is just written in hiragana.

In this case, you better learn by heart that 'どちらも' means here 'both of them',
because 'どちら' has different meanings.
'桃' and '緑' belong only to the noun, and for example '赤', '黄' or '茶' are also the nouns,
which has however respectively a i-adjective form '赤い', '黄色い', or '茶色い' at the same time.
So '緑の傘' is the combination of the noun '緑', the particle(jyoshi)'の' and the noun '傘'.
You cannot say '桃色い' or '緑色い', both of which are incorrect.

赤い、青い、黄色い、白い、黒い
These are the only colours that have i-adjective.
All other colours are always used as noun + no,
such as 紫の、紫色の、緑の、緑色の、etc.
Of course, the above five colours also can be used with noun+no form as well,
赤の、青の、黄色の、白の、黒の.

There is no difference between 'くらい' and 'ぐらい' as a particle(副助詞).
Your question was correctly constructed and has no problem.
But I think, it is difficult to say which of 'ピンク色' and '桃色' is more often used,
probably it depends on the personal taste.

I think ピンク（色） is more commonly used than 桃色. Also 桃色 is more specific - darker pink while ピンク seems to cover much wider range of colour (mixture of red and white) from pale to dark or even flashy one.

I don't think there's a rule about it - くらい and ぐらい are interchangeable, you can use either.
Cannot think of any example that only one of them should be used...
