いえ/うち

What's the difference between 家(うち) and 家(いえ)? My textbook uses both as home, but doesn't explain the difference, and I'm sure there's one.
 
Like the dictionary indicates, いえ is a house in general, while うち is your own.
 
いえ is closer to being about the building
うち also includes the family/household.

In spoken language のうち often becomes んち
俺んち
君んち
田中さんち
