Are u still in Tsukuba ? What course are you taking?
I am new here, entering Tsukuba in coming apr 2010 . Hope 2 get some insight from u.

Anybody has taken LoA from university, but at the end did not get the scholarship offered by the embassy?

Just to confirm because I might need to resign from my work much earlier, but I have heard the official confirmation will only be released by end of Feb/Mar 2010.

Anybody can reply ? Much appreciate.

I'm afraid the only person who can answer your question is the Japanese Government. Nobody is sure including the Embassy hence to take the risk is fully on your own responsibility.
The risk is however reduced when you receive a somewhat called "tentative letter" in December. That time you will know you are 'tentatively selected" by MEXT as a scholar (not a substitute or rejected).
