How do modern Japanese feel about Koreans?

Those pictures have been posted on this forum before... there is a long story behind those pictures, basically coming down to an inadequate teacher. Its not something you will find in every school in Korea.

How do tourists get ripped off in Korea? Have you not been to Thailand, Cambodia or places like that... where to survive they have to 'rip' people off.
Prices in Korea are what they are... take it or leave it. They aren't going to abuse you if you dont buy something from them. Sure they might 'appear' to be making a hard sell... but actually its not like that.
Besides Korea is a hell of a lot cheaper than Japan.

I dont see why people feel that they have to fear for their lives in Korea... its one of the safest countries I have been to. Just make sure you look before you cross the road.

Also there are more Koreans that like Japan than there are who dont like Japan.
Ok, I just read back through, and saw that you Osias are Japanese (right?) so I will take a break now... you have more say over this thread than I do. After all this thread is about how 'Modern Japanese' feel.
Just thought I would throw in my two cents as defense. Dont worry, I defend Japan much the same in debates here.

Hmm foreign residents in Korea....
Those that choose to live in Korea for business, family or personal reasons tend not to be so vocal about their dislikes.
On Korean forums the vast majority of the 'foreign residents' seem to me to be foriegners coming to Korea with their 'bachelors degree' wanting to make quick money and not making any attempt to accept the culture, or its people.
Hence the reason why they get so grumpy about Koreans treating them badly.
Personally I dont blame Koreans for the way they treat some foreigners, I dont even want to be in areas with multitudes of foreigners, because its just embarassing.
Because they choose to live here, they think that by yelling at Koreans who cant speak English (and shouldnt have to, unless they are paying these sods to teach them), that an imaginary light might click on and they can magically understand what they are saying.
Bravo to those that do make an effort, but I have seen many obvious people who dont.

Im sorry that you had a bad time in Korea, if you ever choose to come back, let me know and I will recommend you some places to avoid. All of my Japanese friends know the saying 'GaKa Juseyo' (discount please)... you can try that one, so you might get a more reasonable price. Im going to go out and pretend im Japanese now, and see what the mark up is like.

Impossible! Good experiences in Korea? Must have been fake! You've been lied to constantly. The food was probably poisoned & you just didn't notice.

Is there any person charged for the unjust price in Japan?
Or Except Japan.
Is an unjust price charged from Japanese people?

Well I dont really have any 'real' reason not to enjoy, just the petty little things I always moan about.
If you had met me before coming to Korea (even though I always wanted to come here), you would have bet big bucks that I wouldnt be able to handle it.

Anyway I really cherish my trips to Japan, which I think is why I dont really want to live there, in case it loses its special novelty hold that it has on me.
Adapting is not a problem... it all adds up to life experience and memories, which I treasure more than anything.

Some Koreans are extreme,blame it on family unbringing and over-nationalistic education system in S Korea.

Koreans love those cheap talks like ... overtake Japan or surpass Japan blah blah blah .... it's LIKE EXPOSING DEEP-SEATED INFERIORITY COMPLEX.

Japan has nothing to do with Korean War. Whining about a war in the 16th century makes the world wonder whatever mental issues he has got.

A domestic movie "Hanbando" meaning "Korean Peninsula" has topped the nation's box office which has been dominated by Hollywood films since the release of the Tom Cruise studded "Mission Impossible 3" in early May.

Brief story goes, according to a newspaper article:

North and South, the premise is, have made a pledge to reconcile, and as a symbol of that pact, the Gyeongeui cross-border railroad has at last been completely reopened. But Japan, citing the 1907 Eulsa Treaty with the Empire of Korea, seeks to throw a spoke in the wheels and deploys troops to the East Sea. To overcome the crisis, the protagonists try to unravel a mystery surrounding the "Great Seal," which has been hidden for 100 years.

Spectacular rage that is.

Koreans are more forgiven toward China not Japan for past military aggressions,for China was a " cultural mentor " despite the endured love and hate historical relationship.

Modern day S Korean politicians never failed to quote " Korea faced several hundred invasions from various Chinese dynasties,therefore the country has been on guard ".

GHQ ordered many japanese experienced crews who had embarked on japan warships during ww2, to sweep bombs floating in the sea. They went there from somewhere around northern Kyusyu.

As long as I know, during the 13th century Korean peninsula has been invaded and ruled by the Mongolians.According to Toshio Kuroda, one of the reasons for the defeat of the Mongolian army on their attempt to invade Japan, has been the fact that the biggest part of the soldiers sent to Japan have been Koreans.They simply didn't want to fight. Neither these, who built the ships supported further expansion.
Korean emperor in that time hasn't been truly independent , he has been "advised", I guess.
Apology doesn't bring the dead back to life or cure life wounds, but surely it is a step for a further dialoge and a sign of good will.

Isn't there a common Japanese belief,it was Kamikaze " divine wind " saved Japan from Mongol military aggression ?

Korea's Empresses during Mongol Empire were all Mongol princesses,can't see any logic behind Koreans not wanted to fight.It was this period in Korean history,added large influx of Mongol blood in the native population gene pool.

Korea peninsula was a Chinese dependency of China's various dynasties for 1500 years.

Except for N American-born Koreans who are clueless,otherwise S Koreans generally have good idea on how ordinary Japanese feel about them.

Japanese can only truly satisfy Koreans' psychological void is baselessly subject to Koreans' long-held divine belief of Japanese and Koreans are indeed A 100% PURE KOREAN RACE otherwise they continue to whine to no end.

A Zainichi Korean Mrs Shin quoted in one news report " we just want to be loved by Japanese ".

There was, indeed, some 60 years ago, but this has been reviewed bt recent historical studies, like these of Kuroda or Amino.

The marital relations in Asia in this period were quite instable, and established only for political purpose( thus Monogolians have given an official reason to Koreans to follow their politics.) Being forced to follow somebody's politics due to your dependant situation, doesn't mean it has been willingly followed.

Mongol rule has been written as Yuan Dynasty in China's history regardless of Nomadic origin,same for Mongol Xian-Bei's Northern Wei and Northern Yen dynastic periods.It was an old score between Japanese and ancient Chinese northern Nomadic hordes NOT Han Chinese.

According to archived Korean history materials,population was 4 millions during Koryo Dynasty with 30% genetically influenced by Mongols in this time frame.There were " massive rapes " of Korean women folk occured,with some captured to be sent to Mongolia.

The original ancient Korean population was mainly comprised of Tungus and Dong-Yi origins from today's China's NE region ( old Manchuria ) and China's Shangdong peninsula.

Nowadays,it's a fashion for S Koreans parade as " PURE Mongols ",in fact they're actually bastardized off-springs of Mongol invaders' rape campaign.
