...to stay connected to the "Mainland" as I'm in Hawaii (Okinawa) 😁 ...

But, the email alerts were hitting my Gmail spam box, which I rarely check!

I reported it as not spam, so hopefully, it no longer goes there and goes to the inbox/promotions/forums area instead now.

But, just making you aware of this issue. :)

Thanks for reporting this. We are using Mailgun for transactional emails, so I'm not sure why this is happening. :(

I think it is sent from a malicious fake Jerf website instead of the original Japan Forum. Send an email to the fake website and warn them to stop sending such the untrue things.

Excuse me, but communications of any kind with a malicious site is not advisable. Even using a Google/Gmail account that doesn't easily provide an IP address is still not a completely safe way to communicate with a malicious site. I am sorry, Mansoor, but that is very poor advice!

You should allow the administration here find out the details of what is going on and they are supposed to deal with any fake JREF site, not any of the Community Members here.

There are also some very fine teams around the Net that will offer information they have collected and that can be attained without cost, if you know where to go.

In fact, just about 5 hours ago one of my team members on my site used two that we often turn to and here are the results:

Honeypot // No information

Stop Forum Spam
1 entry for the IP
5 entries for the email
6 entries for the ID

Once again, communicating with a malicious site is dangerous. That should only be left to professionals. And even they know to be very careful.

@Mansoor, it actually happens quite often that legitimate emails are flagged by Google and other providers. Though we use a third-party to send our transactional mails sometimes their shared IPs are blacklisted, too, and it takes a few days to have them whitelisted again. During that period emails might simply end up in spam folders.

I remember we had a few JREF clone sites in the past but this time it was simply Google being overzealous. On a side-note: I am in the process to changing to another email provider (thanks, @okinawaholic!). :)
