A number of photographs I recently purchased have the names of the gentleman written under the photo. I wondered if anyone might translate the names of these Japanese officers. There are also a few photographs of buildings that also have Japanese captions.

Alright, let me start. The first one is 校長木本少將 (Principal Kimoto. Major general) Presumably a principal of some military academy.
Will take a look at the rest in a few hours.

I'll skip the second one for now. Third one is 生徒隊長 諏訪部少佐 (Students (cadets perhaps?) commanding officer Suwabe. Major)

Fourth from the top is 中隊長 大西大尉 (Company commander Oonishi. Captain)

Group photo:
中尉緒方 中尉中原 中尉野崎 中尉臼井

Ogata, Nakahara, Nozaki, (possibly Nosaki, Yazaki, Yasaki etc.), Usui (All four First Lieutenants)

The second picture is 教授部長 伊藤大佐 Director of the department of professors, Colonel Itō.

Sorry for nitpicking, but it's written vertically so the reading order is from right to left; 緒方中尉, 中原中尉, 野崎中尉 and 臼井中尉.

木本益雄少将 Major General Kimoto Masuo was also the Principal of the Military Engineering School (陸軍工科学校) from August 1, 1934 to July 31, 1935. 伊藤義雄 Itō Yoshio was the Director of the Department of Professors of the school at the time, so those photographs would be the ones of this school in this period.

This is absolutely fascinating for me - thank you so very much for your help! I have a few others from the album which depict what I will now surmise are the school where these men taught.

Again, my sincere thanks.
