I got you, Mike Cash. I would also like to get some sort of feedback from the PM's office on that choice of wording.
I would also like to know if President Obama questioned that choice of vocabulary by PM Abe.
Dotanbatan, you stated in your post that I don't know what it means.
Sorry, but you are very wrong. It means what it means! The use of the word "any" doesn't leave any room for maneuver.
Now you may want to make the case that the way is open as to how we, or anyone else, may wish to interpret the meaning of what he stated, but that is a different thing. We first must be clear about the actual words used and what those words mean. Any means any. Ain't no other way to state it and any good ole' country boy/gal will state it just like that. Now you want to start getting all fancy and stuff, no sweat. But first and foremost let's be clear that a brown cow is a brown cow and it ain't no other colour but brown. Now, you wanna go start talking about shades of brown, that's different. But that means we brought the city folks into the discussion and my brown cow don't know how to talk with city folks. Sorry.
Unfortunately, MP Abe is running a nation that has a past that makes one's choice of vocabulary very important when one is speaking as a leader of that particular nation and aiming harsh words at another nation's leaders or people.
Also, and this is a big also, I'm getting about fed up with all sorts of leaders in politics and business saying things and then turning around and telling us they didn't really mean what they said.
But, you see, if the citizens of this planet don't start holding these leader folks to their words and make them start being straight with us these leader types will just keep on playing games with us. Us citizen folks need to be more assertive in how we deal with our "leaders" -- and I think I will now make everybody angry and say we citizens of Planet Earth need to be less lazy.
We're getting dumped on right and left and most folks just say things like, "What can we do?" -- or -- "I'm just a peon and it don't affect me." -- or -- "They didn't mean it that way."
Anyway, I gotta move all my brown cows out of that field over there. The black ones are complaining and it looks like one of their leaders is building some sort of projectile tossing device.
