ゴッド・スレイヤー

Thanks Toritoribe-san.

This is said by another random person, in the same bar as before.

サブレやまで ぐうぜんみつけた いしが ものすごいねだんで うれたという はなしを したんだよ。そうしたら めのいろをかえちまって・・・
I heard talk of someone accidentally discovering a stone on Sabure Mountain that sold for a very high price. If so my eyes will change color.

The two sentences don't seem to match up, I must have got the first one wrong :/

Just one more thing about your previous post.
いってくるぜ is not just いくぜ. He meant "I'm going to go earning the easy money".

The main verb is 話をした "I told him (= the one who left the bar/who talked to you previously) ~".
そうしたら means "then/after that".
The subject of 目の色を変えた is "he".
目の色を変える is an idiom, meaning "to have one's eyes light up / to have a different look in one's eyes" there.

OK, that clears up a lot of confusion thank you, I understand the whole thing perfectly now.

I don't understand that おでしさん :/ I can't even make a guess.

お弟子さん

If you see a pattern like お(something)さん or just an お・ご on the front of a word, and you can't find the word in your dictionary, try removing those bits.

Hi guys I'm back for more education :)

This is said by people who don't want to speak to me and could be complete gibberish: タ・・・ツヘ・・・ラハ?

そちがまことのでんせつの せんしなら
This isn't the complete sentence but does this mean "If you are the real/true warrior of legend"?

After beating a man in a contest he says: ほう なかなかやるではないか。
Does it mean "Huh I didn't play very well"?

Thanks for the help.

He is praising you: "Oho, you are pretty good! (aren't you)". ではないか is rhetorical.

Yes, it's gibberish.

そちがまことのでんせつの せんしなら

Yes, that's right.

Thanks for the help :)

よくここまできた
Does this mean something like "you did good making it this far"?

旅の無事を祈っておる
This おる verb ending seems similar to おく, I can't find it in any of my books.

あまり人を頼りすぎるの禁物じゅぞ
Why is も used here and not は?

Thanks

きた is 来た "to come" there.

~ておる is an old people's version of ~ている.

禁物じ
あまり人を頼りすぎるの is one of 禁物. あまり人を頼りすぎるのは has a nuance that あまり人を頼りすぎるの is the only one thing you should take care of.

Thanks Toritoribe-san!

わたしはアシーア。あなたと あえるときをたのみに しています。
I think あえる must be the potential form of a verb because あえる means to dress vegetables. But the only verb it looks like it could be the potential form of is ある (to be). It doesn't make sense to me :(

すこしまえに たびびとのまちからきたってひとが のぼったわ。わかいひとってげんきでいいねぇ
The people from たびびとのまち were taken and lead up the mountain past the build that I (and a few other people) are currently in.
Does the red part mean something like "I heard they were young and healthy"?

I think you forgot a common verb 会う.;) (The potential form of ある should be あれる, if it existed.)

すこしまえに たびびとのまちからきたってひとが のぼったわ。わかいひとってげんきでいいねぇ

It seems you are misunderstanding the first sentence to me. As for the second one, it's not hearsay, but expresses the speakers impression. って indicates the topic as same as は, and いい means "to be envious of" there.

わたしはアシーア。あなたと あえるときをたのみにしています。
たのみにしています means that she is making a request. So a super literal translation would be "I'm requesting that you make it possible for us to meet"? Which would ultimately be translated as "Please come find me/come to see me"?

すこしまえに たびびとのまちからきたってひとが のぼったわ。わかいひとってげんきでいいねぇ。
You're right I was misunderstanding the first part, because I didn't understand this usage of って.

So let's try this again: "Not long ago some people went up (the mountain, presumably) from Travelers Town. It's good to be young and healthy." Implying that he is envious of them.

Isn't it あえるときをたのみに しています?

たびびとのまちからきたってひと=たびびとのまちからきたというひと
たびびとのまちからきた modifies ひと.

It's not わかくてげんきでいい. The speaker is envious of a general fact that わかいひとはげんきだ.
(The speaker is a woman, by the way.)

You're right it is あえるときをたのみにしています. 🤦

あなたと あえるときをたのみにしています。
When we are able to meet we will have fun.

How is that?

たびびとのまちからきたってひと=たびびとのまちからきたというひと
たびびとのまちからきた modifies ひと.

OK I think I understand the first part now.

すこしまえに たびびとのまちからきたってひとが のぼったわ。
Not long ago the people from Travelers Town went up (the mountain).

わかいひとってげんきでいいねぇ。

You're right she's a woman, you can tell that by the way she speaks?

I think I understand what you're saying about this sentence now. How would you translate it?

Notice it's not あなたとあえるときたのしみにしています. を shows that あなたとあえるとき is the object of たのしみにしています.
I'm looking forward to the time when I can see you. / I'm looking forward to seeing you.

すこしまえに たびびとのまちからきたってひとが のぼったわ。
Not long ago the people from Travelers Town went up (the mountain).
Perfect!👍 (I think ひと is singular in this case, though.)

You're right she's a woman, you can tell that by the way she speaks?
By the sentence final particle わ.

I think I understand what you're saying about this sentence now. How would you translate it?
It's good that young people are healthy (implying that I'm envious of them).

Thanks again, you're a good teacher 👍

Still in the same building, just talking to the rest of the people.

このおくの とざんどうが ふうさ されていて みょうなやつらが うろついている。 なにをしているかは わからんが きみのわるい ことだ。
That red part to me looks like "interior of the mountain path" but that makes no sense.

ようこそ おきゃくじん!たびのつかれをいやしていってくれ。
What verb is this in red?

わしゃ いまでこそ おいぼれているが むかしは こんなやまの ひとつやふたつ へでもなかった。せがれの ナダレなんぞ まーだまだ ハナタレプーの ひよっこじゃよ。わーっはっはっはっ。
I will attempt a translation of the first sentence: These days I'm decrepit but back in my youth I could climb one or two of these mountains without a problem.

Edict had this entry:
はな垂れ; 洟垂れ; 鼻垂れ 【はなたれ】 (n) (1) runny-nosed child; sniveler; sniveller; (2) (derog) greenhorn; inexperienced person

but there's nothing for ハナタレプー.

It's この奥の登山道, and not 登山道の奥. この奥 refers to the direction "to the depth of the mountain" from the place where they are now.

~て行く means "to do and then go" in that case.

ハナタレプー is a bit oldish (slangy) expression for the definition #2 "greenhorn / inexperienced person".

Thanks again Toritoribe-san, I figure that verb would be ~て行く I just wanted to make sure.

せがれの ナダレなんぞ まーだまだ ハナタレプーの ひよっこじゃよ。
My son Segare is still an inexperienced novice.

I assume he means his son is inexperienced at climbing mountains. Is that translation right?

Yes, but the son's name is ナダレ, not せがれ.;)

Hi again, I'm still working on this game :)

へんなやつらに つかまって・・・どうくつの ろうやに・・・とじこまれちまった・・・・かぜのたにから つれてこられた ひとが・・・むりやり はたらかされて・・・いる・・・やっと・・・
にげてきたけど・・・おってに やられて・・・もう・・・げんかいだ・・・もういちど あのかみさんの りょうり・・・くい・・・たかった・・・ぜ・・・・・・・・・・・

A man's last words, it's all simple stuff except for those red parts which I can't figure out.

おって is 追っ手 I suppose.
げんかい = 限界. 限界だ = "this is (my) limit", "I can't go on anymore"
くい・・たかった = 食いたかった (from 食う = くう)

Thanks for that Ianthas.

何か話し声が聞こえてきます。
How does なにか modify 話し声 here?

"Interrogative + か" gives the meaning of uncertainty. It means that you can hear some talking voices, but what they are talking is uncertain.
