So I found that sleeping guard and woke him up, this is what he said.

Come to think of it, according to Sebuu-sama there's a mysterious jewel that can knock down the rock walls inside that cave.

How is that? Those red parts would have completely stumped me, but I managed to find some example sentences that helped me along.

More natural would be "use this to turn the windmill blades".
I'd interpret the last sentence as "There's a mysterious jewel inside that cave that makes (its wearer) capable of smashing stone walls", i.e. a powerup item.

Other than that your translation looks fine to me.

Just a grammar note:

ておいてくれ is a mix of 〜ておく + てくれる

ておく here - to keep some condition going. 黙る by itself is just "shut up", 黙っておく suggests an ongoing state of keeping quiet. (note: there's another ておく which is to do something in preparation)

I see, I thought the stone walls were in the cave (because I saw some there), not the jewel, and I could just feel there was something wrong about how I handled that ようになる.

Yeah, ようになる means "to become~" (岩の壁をぶっ壊せるようになる = to become to be able to smash stone walls). As you already realized, it's different form 岩の壁をぶっ壊せる不思議な玉.

なんだ あんたかい doesn't imply "only". It shows that the speaker has recognized who the person there is, i.e., it's just "Oh, it's you."

あの洞窟の中に (岩の壁をぶっ壊せるようになる、不思議な) 玉がある - in that cave, there is a mysterious gem that makes you capable of smashing walls (literally or figuratively: maybe the "being able to smash walls" is just a metaphor for "really strong").
(あの洞窟の中に岩の壁をぶっ壊せるようになる、不思議な) 玉がある - somewhere, there is a mysterious gem that makes you capable of smashing walls in that cave.
The first seems more appropriate though: specific directions to a general-purpose powerup, rather than vague information about an item with very limited use.

Excellent breakdown man, very useful. I assumed that cave was the only place those destructible walls would be (I definitely saw some there), but if they are in other places too, then yes it would make more sense for it to be parsed the first way you did it. I can't discount that metaphor possibility yet though, I guess I'll have to see if there is a jewel in that cave somewhere.

Yes, かい is a variation of か, but か is not used only in a question. か/かい gives a nuance of relief there.

For the latter meaning, it should be あの洞窟の中の岩の壁をぶっ壊せるようになる、不思議な玉がある.

I didn't mean it so much as "become capable of breaking the walls inside the cave", but "inside the cave, become capable of breaking walls". Then again, thinking about it some more, it would have to be 洞窟の中で in that case... So either way the second interpretation I wrote is indeed invalid.

So the gem is definitely in the cave, and (since you already saw some candidates) it most likely allows you to literally break walls. The same cave containing the gem just happens to have some destructible walls so you can try out the gem as soon as you get it.

Ah, I see. Anyway, に indicates the location of the existence, so it associates only with ある in that sentence, not 壊せるようになる.

Some random person roaming around a town says this:

Is のに expressing disappointment here?
らしくて is from らしい？ If so why is that particular form used instead of らしい?

The former is for resultative conjunction, and the latter is for adversative conjunction. And yes, のに expresses disappointment there.

Again we have the word らくして confusing me. I don't get how it can have the same meaning as it did in my previous post.
Also はなし, I don't get how it's being modified by what comes before it, and just to be sure it is 話 right?

Hehe, oh man. But it actually doesn't help, I can't find a definition for 楽して. I can find one for 楽 though, meaning comfort. So I'm guessing it is the continuation (if that's even it's name) form of 楽する？

Yeah, it's the continuous usage of the -te form of 楽（を）する. 楽して is close to 楽に "easily" in meaning there.

I'm still having trouble with the first part, but I don't know which bit I don't understand. It looks like "Hey, I have a story about easily earning money!" That can't be right can it?
