maybe it is, but it has to be said its still pretty cool (so i believe anyway) even if that video was fake i still believe in ghosts, if you dont then fine, to each his own

My interest for japan began at age 9 when i saw for the first time the movie called Akira, as i grew up i watched more movies and started to watch anime, ,the older i became the more "serious" my interest became, and i started to understand more about the culture and fashion,i am still trying slowly to learn more about japan and its culture,but i guess why it find it so amazing is probably because its so different compared to what i grew up with.

My interest in Japan originally came for my appreciation of Japanese cars and video games. I grew up riding around in a Mitsubishi and playing Nintendo.
Later on I became much more interested in cars, specifically Japanese ones because they were so inexpensive for all the great features and performance you got. Then I became interested in touge racing and drifitng. That lead into me looking at Japan in general, where I found so many wonderful things I wanted to try out - calligraphy, literature, anime, manga, light novels, history, and even ikebana [hard to believe for a guy like me but, there I was cutting flowers one day].
Later on I became much more interested in cars, specifically Japanese ones because they were so inexpensive for all the great features and performance you got. I have always been fascinated by most things Japanese. It started with video games when young, as well as anime and manga (I loved Ranma 1/2 especially!), and now for me it is especially the language, culture, and music.
I began studying the language just recently. I have always wanted to play the Romancing SaGa games completely since they were never translated into English, and at some point I will! Music-wise, I'm a big fan of Gackt, L'arc-en-Ciel and Hyde, and X Japan.

Having been over two decades in Japan, I have gone through an interest in virtually everything Japanese, but the most lasting is language. I now keep myself connected to the place by snapping loads of interesting pix of everyday life in Tokyo.

I'm an avid anime and video game fan, so that modern culture part is a big thing for me. Also, the music. It's awesome.
Japanese is the one language that I actually enjoy speaking, and I'd love to have a job where I could just jabber and hear Japanese my entire workday.
Martial Arts are pretty cool, and tie in with my interest in traditional Japanese culture.
The food is delicious; it's my favorite type.
The religion? I don't really care much for it, I'm a secular Christian, my friends are Buddhist, we don't really care. The only part of religion I like is the shrines/temples, but that's more of traditional Japanese culture than the actual religion.

Japanese culture, anime & Manga also the language are the traits from Japan that attract me the most. I Dream of one day living there even temporarily and to find my significant other. That's my point of view.

I have a passing interest for j-pop (though have significant interest in traditional Japanese music). Everything else I am interested in to a significant degree.
Manga & anime have always been something mystical to me, yet something that have interested me infinitely more than western comics and shows (not that they're inherently worse). I remember seeing quite a few anime back when I was a child (who could not remember Dragon Ball Z? Also shows like Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Digimon and Yu Yu Hakusho were memorable as a child). I never read much manga as a child, but I did have a manga volume of Dragon Ball Z (covered the Captain Ginyu Saga). Now that I'm older and remember that I enjoyed anime as a child, I want to really get into both of them, in 窶愿ｺ窶怒ﾅ津ｪ (Japanese). Tezuka products especially interest me.
Video games are a passion of mine and have always been my favorite hobby. They have shaped my life and partly made me into the person I am today. I have been thinking about importing Japan-only games I do want, even though this means I will have to mod my games to variable extents.
Martial Arts is something I would like to learn eventually as I feel as it will be helpful for me in the future. Plus to improve myself.
I also upheld strong interest in Japanese culture. For years, I have desired to learn more about east Asia and learning briefly about it has made me really want to dig in. I am planning on buying books on Japan and learning about the culture as well as visiting websites like this one for my info. I am also interested in Japanese people as I always like meeting new people.
Of course I'm interested in 窶愿ｺ窶怒ﾅ津ｪ. After all, it is the best way to appreciate the culture. I also love how the language is written. It is so different, yet it looks so beautiful. I enjoy looking at them and hope to understand it in the language eventually.

considering looking at Shintoism and Buddhism as possible choices.

I was lucky to have studied Japanese as a major at University as part of my Business Degree. I initially planned to work in Japan for a year after graduating to improve my language skills and experience the culture I had been studying about for 3 years. I loved it so much that I ended up staying for more than 10 years. A lot of the best things that have happened in my life have happened in Japan.

Girls. Religion. Food. I won't lie, I am mostly here just to live it up for a few years. Have no interest in learning the Japanese language nor in following "the rules". Most other long-term foreigners come down pretty hard on me for not speaking Japanese or being a "baka gaijin". It's mostly, that I just don't really give a crap what people think of me
