Height in Japan

I was just wondering what the average height is in Japan...? For boys and girls.

I'm 163 cm/ 5'4 and was wondering if I would be considered tall for a girl my age (16).

And also would I be shorter than boys in Japan? Because even at school in the states I feel kind of tall, maybe it's just me though...

For a Dutchmen I am pretty short, only 171cm, so I am pretty glad to be in Japan being able to look over or in their eyes of most of them

Just everytime I meet up with the Dutch community here in Kobe I have to look up at 180 ~ 200 cm friends....

I noticed the height difference. I'm 185 cm and I was towering over most people. Which was nice but also somewhat odd. Not used to feeling so tall. Kind of felt self conscious about it actually, since I stand out already being Hispanic. Not sure about average height but there were a few Japanese who were taller than me, which was actually nice

I never noticed how tall I seemed in Japan until I got the pictures developed from a trip to Kamakura. I looked like a giant! But I am shorter than most guys in America.

I am 6', and I did not feel that I am giant when I was in Japan. There were enough guys of my height, even girls. That is a picture of chef cook from Uoshin restaurant in Shinjyuku. That guy was taller than me. And that restaurant is a best fish restaurant I've ever eat
