Hello All,

I am a Japan Today forum refugee. I had been using that site since 2003. I am not a particularly prolific poster, I think I was approaching 5000 post before its untimely demise.

My interest in Japan started in 2003 when I moved to Tokyo with my job. I am an engineering consultant and originally I was working with some of the now defunct Japanese F1 teams. I left Japan in 2008 and lived in Prague for 2 years and since then I have been back in the UK, which is my home country. I have worked for the same company throughout this period and I still regularly visit Japan through work (about 4-5 times a year)

My Japanese is terrible. Almost non-existent.

My hobbies are running, cars, motorbikes, all motor sports and did I mention running? I've also climbed a mountain or two.

I come to forums to relax and kill a bit of time when I have some, typically when I am sitting bored at an airport. I rarely post anything of any worth or of any seriousness. That approach won't be changing.

Welcome to the forum! It's always nice to read introductions posts like yours.

When you visit Japan, where do you go? (Tokyo?) and have you ever run a marathon? I am thinking of signing up and have been using the Nike Sensor and it's app for a couple of months now.

I went to Prague with my wife for our honeymoon, and really enjoyed it (especially the cheap beer and the snow). Great place.

I generally stay in Tokyo. But visit places north and south of there.

I've run 5 marathons (London, Berlin Chicago, Brighton and Athens Classic), I have also run 24 hour events as a team of 4 (60km run in total personally) and 12 hour event as a pair (again 60km covered). I have an entry for the Tokyo Marathon in February and one for London in April.

Again, nice to see you Bandit!

I seem to recall some of those rare posts of seriousness, but I won't say that your posts of worth were as rare. I do remember respecting them all and only wanting for more though. Looking forward to them when they come!
