They are screwing themselves big time - but I still sympathize with anyone forced to rely on TEPCO or the Japanese government for information.hope they get the nuke situation controlled
I think the port is 100 percent gone and probably some other routes from the main station to the ocean, along with the hovel houses and shanty town (used to love walking...Does anybody know the amount of damage that hit Hachinohe?
I saw some video of waters hitting some structures, but I do not know the extent of the damage.
Another American friend and I on a trip back in 2003 were there for one night, but we never made it any more than a couple blocks from the train station - the one that ended the shinkansen line. We hope everybody we met that night is ok.
I don't have a lot of internet time these days. Thanks

By "main station", this is the same one as the one the Shinkansen stops at?I think the port is 100 percent gone and probably some other routes from the main station to the ocean, along with the hovel houses and shanty town (used to love walking...).
On a brighter note, Aomori-ken actually got out very light outside of the immediate coast at Hachinohe, with few casualties...![]()

B/c it is not high enough to have any effects on them yet. What a brave reporter, so is that person driving with him. I'm quite curious to know if those animals they spotted would somehow suffer from the effects of the radiation, although I'm asking that question on the assumption they have been within the evacuation area for a long time.

No doubt the management of the crisis regarding everything from safety practices to the flow of information is completely unprofessional.Who the **** was the genius who declared this nuclear situation a level 7? ****, morons running TEPCO, now overestimating the level of seriousness. The say it has only let 10% of the amount of radiation out than Russia and no deaths from immediate radiation exposure, so how the **** does that equate to the same level of Chernobyl?
What are they trying to do, win points or something? I can't believe how this is being handled, we may as well have had monkeys running the show, b/c that is all I can think of in this situation.
