Need a word or phrase translated?

PS: Was I correct in this phrase?
やっぱり英語は難しいですね~;;
She said that, right ? 😌 I don't have a context, but your interpretation seems fine.

Here's my response:
リオさんは、あなたの趣味何ですか?
私の趣味は金貨集めです、私もビデオウゲムは好きです。
ごめん、私の日本語が下手です。私の日本語大丈夫ですか? (わかりますか?)

リオさんの趣味は何ですか? (趣味を教えてください。)

金貨集めとビデオウゲムは私の趣味の二つです。

ところで、GCLは趣味に大金を費やしますか? So do you spend a ton of money on your hobby ? 🙂🙂

すみません、私は日本語が下手です(ね)。 (That's what I meant for you to say....:p) 分かりましたか?

Hi, I'm still wondering if someone could help me with my last post referring to those three pages. If someone could help it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've given it a shot and posted my reply to your other/original thread.

Please do not double-post your questions in the future. Thanks & good luck! 🙂:

Thank you elizabeth.

I need to learn the ~te verbs again.....never heard wakarimashita? Does that mean "understood?"?

Hello everyone!!
お久しぶりですね 😌

I saw this sentence online and wasn't sure if 上げるwas the right verb. I thought that 置く would be better but i wanted to see if 'ageru' is in fact OK here :D
彼は荷物をあみだなに上げた。

Thanks in advance!

If you've ever seen where the shelf is located on a train in Japan, you'll see that it is way up above the seat. So, "ageru" is acceptable in this case.

For "take down" ~~ 降ろす・下ろす or 下げる、取る。。。。 and some others that don't exactly apply to a shelf. 😌

How do you say?
[Valantine's Day is on the 14th of February. It is a day for people to express their love]

[In Japan, it is a culture that only women give chocolates to men on February 14. A month later, men are expected to reply their feelings by giving white chocolates. This day is known as "white day"]

Sorry for the trouble, thanks in advance~

Hi everyone :-)

I found this term ツラソ人種 @ a Japanese website, somehow there is no exact English translation for it and came up as " tsuraso race ".Is that " Turanian Race ",this is my best guess :?

I guess it's ツラ(つら)not ツラ(つら)?
If so, it means Turanian.
You do not have to always translate "人種" unless it is not commonly acknowledged as a race or tribe.
(Same goes with 日本= the Japanese, or 日本 = Japanese.)

Hi everyone! I was watching a drama recently, and trying to "耳コピー" as much as possible, but I've met extreme difficulty in hearing the following passage:

男って女が自分より力を持つことすごく恐れてるじゃないですか。うまくやりたいならバカなのにしたかわいくしてた方が得(とく)です。(Men are very afraid that women will have more power than them, so if you want to succeed, it's more advantageous to act stupid or cute)

The red part is what I couldn't get...(even after fifty times of repeating the same scene lol). Does it make some sense? If not, is there a better alternative that sounds close to that? (I'm watching Kimi wa Petto, by the way)

Sorry, I know this is a strange request...よろしくお願いします!

It might be バカなふりしてかわいくしてた.;-)

Thank you very much! ふり certainly does make a lot of sense :-)

Just curious- Would なり make any sense in this context?

Can someone please correct this translation?

私の趣味は音楽鑑賞です。
My hobby is appreciating music.

特技はピアノとギターとドラムです。
I also have a special skills in piano, drum and guitar.
ケビンさんの特技は何ですか?
What are you skilled at?

Hey everyone :)

I didn't want to make a new thread since this questions so small, so I thought I'd post it here.

I was just wondering, is there any difference between, for example, すしを食べたばかりです and すしを食べたところです?

~たばかり means one has just done (finished) something.
~たところ means almost the same.
The difference is, ばかり is used only for completion while ところ can be used for ongoing thing. ところ means "place" but it also referrs to a status.
e.g.
すしを食べているところです We are now eating sushi
すしを食べ終わったところです We've finished eating sushi

If you're talking about to use なり instead of ふり or バカななりして, the answer is no. バカなふりして means "to pretend stupid" in this context, whereas バカななりして is interpreted as バカな格好して or "to dress stupid."

赤ん坊ながら、問題児ぶりは、すでにこのころから発揮していた。 とにかく眠らない。 夜泣きが激しく、たいして昼寝していないのに、夜通し泣き続けていたそうだ。 一日中、子守で疲れ果てた母にとっては、ノイローゼになりかねないほどだったというから、その激しさがわかる。
Hi there guys!
問題児ぶり problem child manner/style?
なりかねないほど I don't understand this meaning at all.
Thanks in advanced and gl to those taking JLPT.

問題児 is one word, meaning "trouble-making kid". It is sometimes used to refer to a grown-up, in that case it simply means "trouble maker".
ぶり(=ふり) means "the way (something/someone is xxx).
~ぶりを発揮する: do one's stuff as

~かねない: might (do ~)

Hi guys! Could you please help me with translation into Japanese. If it's possible it should be written in KANJI. "Humble, average-looking white guy seeks warm, caring Asian woman with strong moral character and a background in quantum physics. Please, no supermodels." Thank you in advance.
