I also think so.

And let's try this.

Shoul I say

Watashi wa anata yori tsuyoi desu.

Or

Watashi wa anata yori tsuyoku desu.

I am asking this because there is a rule to use -ku form after the particle "yori".

It depends on not "whether to be used after より or not" but "what the word following after 強い is".

The conjugation of 強い(tsuyoi; i-adjective)

私はあなたより強い。
Watashi wa anata yori tsuyoi.

私はあなたより強くなりたい。
Watashi wa anata yori tsuyoku naritai.

私はあなたより強くて大きい。
Watashi wa anata yori tsuyokute ookii.

私はあなたより強くない。
Watashi wa anata yori tsuyokunai.

私はあなたより強かった。
Watashi wa anata yori tsuyokatta.

時によってあなたより強かったり弱かったりした。
Toki ni yotte anata yori tsuyokattari yowakattari shita.

あなたより強かったら勝てたのに。
Anata yori tsuyokattara kateta noni.

あなたより強ければいいのに。
Anata yori tsuyokereba ii noni.

彼はあなたより強かろうに。
Kare wa anata yori tsuyokarou ni.

Thank you for explication.

Now,let's see about this...

The following sentences-

1."That woman wants my son to buy her the cigarettes."

2."Nobody can love you like I love you."

Could I say-

Ano onna wa watashi no musuko ni tabako wo katte moraitai.

Watashi no you ni anata wo AI-suru koto wa daremo dekinai.

1."That woman wants my son to buy her the cigarettes."

Ano onna wa watashi no musuko ni tabako wo katte moraitai.
When you use a verb/adjective that expresses "emotion/sense" such like "貰いたい(moraitai), 行きたい(ikitai), 欲しい(hoshii), 悲しい(kanashii), 痛い(itai),,,", you can use its plane form only for expressing "speaker's emotion/sense".
If you use it for the other's(your/his/her/their...), the form has to change to "explanation/guess" form, like 貰いたがっている(moraitagatteiru), 貰いたそうだ(moraitasou da), 貰いたいのだろう(moraitai no darou)...

Well, now there is something more I would like to know.
How could I say the sentence....
This is the village in which I drink the sake.
I would say it like.....
Watashi ni sake o nometa wa kono mura desu.
Is it OK?
飲めた(nometa) is the past form of 飲める(nomeru) which means "to be able to drink".
And you need to put the particle "の(no)" before the particle "は(wa)" in order to nominalize the clause "私が酒を飲んだ(watashi ga sake o nonda)".
So the translation is

私が酒を飲んだのはこの村です。
Watashi ga sake o nonda no wa kono mura desu.
or
私が酒を飲んだ村はここです。
Watashi ga sake o nonda mura wa koko desu.

ありがとうございます。
so when you even want type a sentence for romaji to japanese character, spaces are not needed unless you want to put a comma? ^^
If you're a starter who just beginning to learn, what type of basic lesson would you recommend?
I'm self-learning Hiragana, trying to master the basic character.
...I'm still not good at it though. :)
do particles still have to be written?

:-)

Im not quite sure what you mean by you don't have to put a space unless you want to put a comma...
Do you mean that if you were turning "arigatou gozaimasu" into hiragana, then you could type it "arigatougozaimasu?" If so, that is correct. But if you are typing it out in romaji then you should space it out so you can make it easier to read. But again I am confused with what you are wanting to say with the comma situation.

When I want to put a comma, I just put a comma. Lol. I dont space the words out. I don't know if that is what you are supposed to do, but I dont. Wait for a reply on this from one of the more knowledgeable members like Elizabeth or Toritoribe.

And yes, particles still have to be written.

Yasir-san, I know what you mean when you say "des" but you need to make sure to add the "u" to make it "desu" or else you could get in trouble when you want to actually start typing/writing in Japanese characters.

When writing in Japanese you use comma's sometimes just as you would in English and then you would put a comma and a space ", ". I dont know if thats proper Japanese but thats what ive been taught in my Japanese class. (you dont need t space out the words individually just put one space after the comma)

So while you dont NEED to put a space in while writing in romaji it is highly recommended that you between each word so that it is easier to read, however it isnt necessary and when using japanese script no spaces are necessary at all unless you use a comma.

My method for learning is just repetition and variety. when starting off try and get some childrens books and try reading them, een if you dont understand them, and do book excercises and as you get better move on to listening to Japanese music and videos and trying to understand what they are saying. One thingis for certain and that it isnt easy or quick to learn Japanese. You really need to put in 20-30 minutes 6 days a week. Dont just do 3 hours one day then leave it for a week. As you get better it becomes easier to study as your more motivated and the range of learning methods increases (for example if you get really good you can just listten to jpop and try trranslating it in your head and thats your practice), but at the start its mostly about, memorising the grammar and vocab and then applying it through book questions.

Whatever you do though dont give up :D Japanese is a great language and definitely pays off in the end.

Yeah, you got that right. Sorry for making it so confusing.
One problem that I can find within myself is that to say it out loud is quite simpler than typing, cause I don't quite know how to write in either romaji or nihongo as it can be a little diff when you write but can be the same when you pronounce it.
like, it's wrong when you write arigato and it's suppose to be arigatou nyaa?
so is it honto or hontou.
I get mixed up when it comes to this. ^^

.

what I've been doing is I watch Jdorama and listen to Jpop and look at their lyrics and translation like almost everyday, for Hiragana, I make a habit to practice it everyday. I'm highly motivated cause I would really love to speak and write Japanese even if it take me years. Self-learning is difficult though.
I would love to start a conversation with you guys so that I will improve both in speaking and writing.

🙂

When a sentence is described in kana and kanji, a comma and a space ", " is generally not used in Japan. We commonly use 読点; touten - a pause mark "、".

今日は、とても暑い日です。
Kyou wa, totemo atsui hi desu.

If you're a starter who just beginning to learn, what type of basic lesson would you recommend?

That is just what I consider an English equivalent of a comma. Because when I turn my IME to Japanese the English "," turns to the Japanese "ツ、" so that is why I consider them the same thing.

Is there another use for the English comma in Japanese?

But thank you for letting me know it is named something else!

@Kyle ,

The Japanese comma points to the lower right, so it can work for text that is written both left to right and top to bottom.

Actually, what you suggest is not a bad idea. But we are all having one here, so why not have it here?

Just a misreading. katana <--> katakana;-)

the second sentence has both a tautology and a fractured idiom. Kono katakana no moji wa jibun no te de kakimashita.

I know it is hard. I am also not 100% certain whether or not you can say made by my own hands jibun no te de tsukurareta. The verb, to make is tsukuru. But the writing out the katakana word uses the verb kakeru.
The verb 鍛える[kitaeru] also can be used for "to make/forge (a sword.)"

Yes. "Kakeru" can work perfectly in that context.:)

この文では、「により」を「によって」の代わりに使えないという文法ははっきり理解したけど、
きょう初めて、そのルールをよく説明してもらいました。

多分、「により」を使うことが出来ない理由は、「手」は、具体的なもの(メカニズム)だからだと思います。ひとえに、そういう理由からじゃないです。その上、まったくほかの理由は 「作られた」は受身形だからね。。。ここでは、能動態を使うのは、あまり自然な日本語ではないですね。

でも、抽象的なことだったら、「By means of、an instrument by which to do the action]という意味で使えるし、どちらを使ってもいい場合がほとんどでしょうね。
