Hello all.

I had a bit of a request for those here, especially those who are involved with education in Japan or are aware of the system or have studied it.

I'm wondering what books exist on the subject of Japanese education methods, specifically postwar concerning the teaching of World War II related subjects. Atomic bombing, nanjing, comfort women... those happy subjects. The critical thinking thread and such is somewhat connected to this obviously, and I'm trying to gain an understanding of the Japanese education system in regards to teaching such subjects and how they appear in society.

Thank you very much.

it depends on teacher because of ideology..

at first. you shoud know about the Japanese teacher's union.
Japan Teachers Union - Wikipedia
The union tended to support the Japan Socialist Party, while a minority faction supported the Japan Communist Party.
they can not admit liberal critical thinking about that...
The evil of Japan is thoroughly taught.

then ,The student awakes from their brainwashes after

Japan should make English a selection as one of Foreign languages.
I think that the time reviewed came.

Thanks for the links guys. To give a bit more information on what I'm looking for in addition to the main post: I'm mostly hoping to find books that give insight into how the Japanese education system functions in regards to selecting what to teach about war time history and the politics involved. Deep and difficult subject of course. English, or Japanese. (Of course Japanese is still difficult for me.

Of course, any related material helps as well.

it is a political matter that has no answer depends on ideology

The teacher originally prepares material.
however, there is a big problem to teach it in school because there are various opinions and friction about that. it is easy to be labeled "right or left" by that

only onething i have to say.
i cant believe there are still wars in real world. they never learn from history?...
The war would be never lost in the future..
Japan teaches the seed of the war rather than teaches the cruelty of the war because evrybody know War is cruelty. why war was happend? It is also possible to remove the seed if the cause is understood since opium war

in my opinion, for example, to teach nanking incident, unit 731... is lame things. These are problems of examining it for myself by various documents.

in China...

Standard when choosing a history textbook by teacher's union
