Quick sentence~

Hey everyone.

So, basically, I'm write just a sentence for the end of a paragraph I need to write. It's kinda personal and i know it looks weird for the need of japanese, but lets just say it'd be a good touch for what im needing to do.

Anyways, what im trying to say is

"Thank you for considering my request."

I'm trying to be polite as possible, so would I say:

私の要請のことをお考えになってくださってありがとうございました。
watakushi no yousei no koto o okangae ni natte kudasatte arigatou gozaimashita.

I'm not sure if that's what you would put, but it's what I expected since i'm using boht honorifics because, even though they most likely would not understand what this says, if they had someone trnaslate, at least it'd look very polite.

anyways, i thought another ay would be

私の要請のことを考えてくださってありがとうございました。

but i think the first looks better and i dont think u would use the non-honorific version of the verb with this honorific (i think?) ending...

please and thank you to whomever helps correct etc etc with this ^_^

p.s. I'm not sure what particle goes with 考える. I know it means 'to consider' or 'to think about', but i know know that 'to think about' comes with the particle のことを. I was just wondering if 'to consider' came with the same... Ohh wait. Well, 'consider' and 'think about' basically mean the same thing <_< >_>

How much polite you should be really depends on exactly whom you're writing you in what situation, but in normal context 要請 is too polite/official-sounding. 要請 is something to be made in a very official situation, like between the municipalities or governments or organizations. for instance.

I can think of other words for "request", お願い、依頼、要望, for instance, but to decide which is the most appropriate, again it really depends on the context.

"Thank you for considering my request."

I wonder if this is your gratitude for what was already done (the person you're writing you alreay done you a favour or something based on your request) or just a so-called "premature thanks" when you're asking the person for something.

In case of the former,

私の要望にお応えいただきありがとうございます。
こちらの要望にご配慮いただきありがとうございます。
(... to be honest the above two are not really good. I just cannot think of something better now. Sorry.)

If it is something personal and the person you're writing to is not someone you need to pay the maximum respect, maybe the above examples are way too polite.

In case of the latter, ありがとうございます does not really fit, you should always use よろしくお願いいたします.

I don't think it is that common to thank someone for something in advance in Japanese. While it is OK to say "Thank you for reading" at the end of a letter (because if a person is reading the last line of a letter, it is very likely he has read what is written above it), thanking him for "considering your request" which he has not done, yet, sounds a bit awkward (in Japanese, anyway).

How about looking for some other expressions/phrases that will express the same sentiment instead of looking for a literal translation of it?

Since you said you wanted to be as polite as possible, I have come up with this.

ご考慮のほど、どうぞ宜しくお願いいたします。
Pretty Pretty Please consider (my request).

I think it's best to do away with "my request" altogether. Although we don't know the content of your letter, it is safe to assume it is a letter requesting something from the addressee, so I don't think you really need it here.

Although it is not necessary, you could add "Thank you for reading" at the end to be really really really polite.

ご清読、ありがとうございました。

I honestly don't know why I said it was personal, cause it's really not XD Maybe i was because it was like 1:30 am... xD

Anyways, basically, I'm moving, and the school i was supposed to go to has Japanese (yay!) and yeah. so we registered and then a half an hour later the school called saying that we don't live in there zone, and that I'd have to go to another school (which doesn't have Japanese). So, we went to the other school and asked if even though we live in their zone, if we could to the the other. They said we'd have to register and we cant do that until we actually move there. And the lady said that the only way that the board will let me move to the other school is if i have a good reason. So, she suggested writing a letter or something. So, the reason WHY i wanna go there is because of the japanese, and its really what I'd like to do with the rest of my life @_@ anyways, i need to write a letter with like why this is so important and blah blah. And my step-dad suggested that i should put something in Japanese at the bottom. So, this is a sentence I thought of... i guess.

Like, they haven't said yes, but they haven't say no, so they are still considering it. even if they said no, i was just gonna say to them thanks for thinking about what i have said or something.

Sorry for the long explanation, but if that helps... i guess it can help... xDDD

If you want to say "please consider my request",

格段のご高配を賜りますよう、何卒よろしくお願い申し 上げます。

even if they said no, i was just gonna say to them thanks for thinking about what i have said or something.

The sentence I put above is not used for this "thanks", though.

ご検討いただければ幸いに存じます。

These sound more "reserved" than the sentence I posted above.

Both いたす(致す) and 申し上げる are the humble expression of する. 申し上げる is more modest.

よろしくお願いします ＜ よろしくお願いいたします ＜ よろしくお願い申し上げます

こういう言葉はどちらかというと上司や目上の人が下の人をねぎらうときに使えますね。。。

「協力」などを使い分けようとすると失敗をすることが多いですよね。
