When I came home today my mother suddenly aksed me: "Do all Japanese wear foot patches?" Apperantly my grandma saw on TV, that Japanese keep themselves healthy with bamboo foot patches and told my mother to ask me about it... As I've never heard of it, I said I'd ask here...

So, do Japanese REALLY use those patches... and do they actually work? ☝

Greetings,

Julia

Sounds about as ridiculous as any other snake oil treatment, and I've never heard about it here.

I've never heard of "chi foot patches." Google search shows they are Korean in origin. However, products designed for similar purposes are found in Japan. Collectively, they are called 窶伉ォニ団ニ畜ナ停?卍康ナ?テュ窶ケテッ (ashitsubo kenkou kigu) and are designed to press certain points on the sole of the foot for relief from stress and better health.

I found an article on the Wikipedia:
Reflexology

I don't buy 100% of the claims made by such products but do feel some relief from fatigue and better blood circulation when I wear one of these:

I see, I see... Thanks for your answers... I'll pass them on :)
