AVI - DVD burning

I just got some ImTOO software and one of them is ImTOO DVD Creator.

It's a pretty simple program, but nevertheless I just can't seem to figure out how to get my video on DVD. The files are AVI and MPEG. Now anytime I want to start burning after converting the files to ISO or VOB, then I always get messages that the converted files can't be found or that there is no disc in the tray or that there isn't enough space.

Now I also tried to burn the converted files with DVD Shrink and Nero, but it's useless and they can't burn it either. I was also wondering if I burned with ImTOO the AVI files directly on the DVD, if it would burn it as image or just the files.

So can anyone who has ImTOO help me out, or any other advice for good software that can convert/burn AVI and MPEG to DVD?

Where did you get these videos from? if you downloaded them, odds are that this thread will be closed shortly...

What has that got to do with this? Where I get it from or what's on it doesn't matter.

I'm asking a question about legally acquired DVD-burning/conversion software, how to use it and how or where to get other/better software.

I use a program called Convert X to DVD. It coverts files and authors DVDs. Its very easy to use. I don't have a link though.

I don't think TALKING ABOUT divx & mpeg video is any sort of thing to get all worked up about--- It's not as if the OP asked where they could download movies or that sort of thing...

It can be a bit vebose, and some of it is a little less user friendly than should be, but there are a lot of video mangling tutorials (one of which for converting a divx file into a format that can be played by a standard non-divx capable dvd player) at Doom9.net - The Definitive DVD Backup Resource

Also, I don't know if I'd recomend going from divx/xvid to mpeg3 I think there's a substantial loss in quality--- it was never meant to go in that direction--- at least that's what I've read previously... You might think about just getting one of the many new DVD players that can be found for quite cheap which are capable of playing xvid/divx encoded files, then you just throw them all on a dvd and play them--- works w/ subtitles too.

or making vcds rather than dvds. iv e used dvd shrink a time or too in the past and havent had a problem with it. thought i think i usually left the recoded file on the desktop until burning...

Well, vcds use mpeg, so going from divx -> vcd wold give you the same type of loss in quality--- But you certainly could make a vcd w/ a mpeg source. Also, there is SVCD, but I sort of think this is a useless format---- And, whatever China is creating to compete (stupidly) with the ubiquitous DVD format...

Ahhh vcds... it reminds me of the oldschool days of movie ripping---- I remember when groups used to rip to ASF before someone hacked the mpeg4 format to divx.

Now, BLUERAY vs HDDVD... your gess is is good as mine.
